Hi everyone 👋 This is a tough call for us regarding the postponement of our Drags & Rollracing event.

Unfortunately, the weather outlook isn’t giving us any confidence to plan event for this Sunday. With heavy rain and cold conditions expected across Saturday, and Sunday staying very cold, even the smallest amount of drizzle or rain would make it too risky for us to be able to have any racing on track.

Let’s not forget—this is Melbourne winter, and this week is a bit colder and more unpredictable than usual. ❄️🌧️

Sad news earlier today, May he Rest in Peace🙏

Vale Tim Nielsen – 26th September 1966 – 7th July 2026

On behalf of the Nielsen/Richardson family, It’s with profound sadness that IHRA Australia shares the news of the passing of our IHRA Australia National Technical Director, Tim Nielsen. Tim has held this position since 2017 and has been the backbone of IHRA ever since and also carving out his own racing career as a racer for many years, competing in many cars and ultimately enjoying his time in Modified Dragster proving his ability as a race car driver.

Tim has battled illness for the last several years, however, has still been working in his role up to his last days always helping racers with any technical queries they may have had.

Tim is survived by his father Niels, wife Cassandra and daughter Cheyenne, Dylan,Brianna , Bec and many grandchildren. Our love and support are with them at this most difficult time.
