This week on SPOTLIGHT SUNDAYS we introduce to you to another of our ground crew in our Western Australia team; LUCY ✨

Lucy is an adventurous and down-to-earth person who finds joy in both the great outdoors and quiet moments with a good book. Whether she’s camping under the stars, cheering on an ice hockey game, or getting lost in a new story, she embraces life with curiosity and enthusiasm. Her love of hot air balloons began in childhood, growing up watching the colourful balloons drift across the sky, sparking a lifelong fascination with these gentle giants. Today, that passion remains as strong as ever, reflecting her appreciation for adventure, freedom, and the beauty of simple moments.

This week on SPOTLIGHT SUNDAYS we take you back to the skies to introduce to you another one of our wonderful commercial pilots, Pete ✨ Pete is our “ballooning maverick.” A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he began his journey in 1997 when a chance conversation introduced him to ballooning. Starting as a crew member in the Yarra Valley, he trained under skilled pilots from around the world, eventually earning his Private Pilot Certificate and discovering a passion for competition ballooning.

Peter has represented Australia in three World Championships since 2000 and achieved a number of top 5 finishes at the Australian Nationals. With over 25 years of commercial flying experience across Melbourne and the Avon Valley in Western Australia, Peter brings unmatched skill, enthusiasm, and a touch of adventure to every flight.

When he’s not in the air, you’ll find him skiing, camping, or spending time with his two teenage daughters – and cheering for the St. Kilda AFL team.
