When you try and be the “perfect” person for everyone. You aren’t being consistent for anyone. Especially yourself.

Perfection to me is only really rewarded by external validation (as we know I don’t play in that realm). It’s like a stats game almost.

But striving for perfection is setting yourself up to be disappointed. Cause it’s impossible to make EVERYONE HAPPY.

Your efforts will also NEVER feel ENOUGH. Why?

Cause you don’t need to be perfect to be enough and what is enough is being who you are and honouring that every single fking day.

Just like you can only can go to the gym everyday till a point, then life happens and you feel like a failure for not having the “perfect” routine.

You can only hold the burden of trying to meet everyone’s expectations, make everyone happy and change who you are for others before life happens and it’s all TOO MUCH.

I’m not going to glamourise these thoughts, even though they are common they definitely aren’t normal.

And this doesn’t have to be your reality.

You can get to a point where you feel completely safe, comfortable and loved by yourself in your body.

That you can put on clothes regardless of the size and feel amazing. You can move your body for just health and enjoyment alone.

We can fall so deep into this feeling of never feeling confident in our body and skin. I know that rebuilding this version on your self can seem scary and sometimes like it will never happen.

But I want to be the reassurance that it absolutely can and WILL happen for you. You just need to put in the work from the right place and build yourself a stronger foundation.

This week has not been my most thriving week. 🫠

Having moments of feeling stuck and struggling to think about what steps you need to take forward can feel really hard.

And guess what this is unbelievably normal! 💁🏼‍♀️

🤦🏼‍♀️A fixed mindset "why should I bother"
- avoids challenges
- Gives up easily
- Believes abilities and attributes are innate
- Sees Failure as proof of unintelligence
- Threatened by success of others

💁🏼‍♀️ Growth mindset "I want to keep improving"
- Embraces changes
- Effort leads to success
- Believes abilities and attributes can be developed
- Views failure as a chance to grow
- Inspired by success of others

🧠 You can have a growth mindset in one area and a fixed in
others. (Growth with health, fixed with money)

🧠 Building a growth mindset in one area can roll over to
another as well! (Growth in fitness-> rolls over to healthy eating)

Having a Growth mindset in relation to your fitness goals means you are more likely to recover from set back, seek learning and improvement to benefit your goals.
- healing past eating behaviour and patterns & More frequent exercise

Having a fixed mindset in regards to fitness goals you are more likely to fall off track when encountering setbacks.
- more concerned with their "in the moment performance."
- more likely to blame who they are as a person for any kind of failure.

Steps towards a GROWTH mindset

To do what makes you feel good! Lifestyle changes are meant to fit with every aspect of your life snd be sustainable for this reason

Our mind is sadly not always on our side , most of the time it’s just trying to keep everyone clam and comfortable.

This can halt us in our process to do better and action change.

Our mind will tell us story’s on why we should stay home today ,🧠 “cause going to the gym was a lot of effort…”

Even though this is the same mind that tell us 🧠 “ahh we need to working out more , look at these stomach rolls”

Don’t let yourself fall for the justifications on why you shouldn’t start because “I don’t feel like it “ or “it’s hard to start”.

This head space isn’t helpful.

The more you overcome this speech that runs over in your mind - the more it will become easier to say. 🧠 “I over came this last time , I will be able to do this again”.

You can put in the work.
