Victorian pathway athlete Jack Thomas joins the Victoria Marvels for year one!

An U23 Spinner, Victorian Institute of Sport scholarship holder, and experienced Victoria NJWC representative, Thomas continues to go from strength to strength.

After a stint up north with the Spartans in the NWBL in 2025, Thomas returns home to represent Victoria on the big stage in our first year in the league. We’re expecting his development to lift again in 2026, with Thomas set to play a major role for the group on and off the court.

Welcome, Jack!

Issy Martin returns to the Wonders in 2026!

Our inaugural captain is back for year two after helping lead Alabama to a Women’s Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championship.

Martin made her mark internationally, earning selection in the 2026 NWBA Women’s All-Rookie Team following a breakout season in the US.

By all reports, her growth over the past 12 months has been massive, and we can’t wait to have Issy back in a Wonders jersey bringing the physicality, intensity and leadership that made her such a key part of this group from day one.

Brady Chochrane joins the Marvels!

Brady joins the Marvels squad following a strong showing at the recent National Junior Wheelchair Championships, and we’re excited to welcome him into the program for 2026.

A talented Victorian pathway athlete, Brady continues to develop his game at a rapid rate and brings plenty of potential to the group. His work ethic, growth and commitment to improving make him an exciting addition to the squad, with the club looking forward to seeing his impact on court in the years ahead.

Player signed - Taishar Ovens!

We’re excited to welcome Paralympian Taishar Ovens to the Victoria Wonders for the 2026 season.

Bringing a wealth of experience at the highest level, Taishar adds strength, toughness, and leadership to our low-pointer group as we head into our second year in the league. Ovens’ presence will play a big role in helping shape a strong and competitive campaign for the Wonders this season.

Please join us in giving Taishar a warm welcome to the Wonders.

Congratulations to our Victorian Junior Wheelchair Team on winning Silver at the 2026 National Junior Wheelchair Championships!

We saw Victoria Wonders and Victoria Marvels athletes make a big impact, led by head coach Lauren Robinson and assistant coach Jason Bryant.

Huge effort from everyone involved!

She helped build it, now she leads it again. Shelley Matheson returns for 2026.

A three-time Paralympian and multiple medallist, Shelley returns for 2026, bringing leadership, composure, and over two decades of elite experience to the Victoria Wonders.

We’re lucky to have someone like Shelley Matheson leading this group into its second year, and we’re ready to see her back on court in just a few weeks!

Huge shoutout to Victoria Wonders athletes Laura Davoli and Issy Martin on their selection to the 2026 NWBA Women’s Intercollegiate Division All-Rookie Team.

Well done to Issy Martin for also taking out the Women’s Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Championship with Alabama, defeating Wonders teammate Laura Davoli & the University of Texas Arlington in the finals.

It’s unreal to see what our Wonders are doing internationally, and we’re looking forward to having them back in Australia in 2026 wearing the Wonders jersey again.

Well done Issy and Laura.

Seb Welsh is in. The Victoria Marvels lock in another name for the inaugural squad.

A quiet operator who just gets it done. Welsh puts in the work, keeps improving, and finds ways to have impact through effort and consistency.

Off the court, he gives his time to the sport and backs the people around him

We’re pumped to have him on board.

There was never any doubt, Leanne Del Toso returns in 2026.

Del Toso is set for another big year with the Victoria Wonders, continuing to drive the group and set the standard with how she leads and shows up, on and off the court.

An All-Star 5 selection in 2025 recognised the impact she brings every time she hits the floor, and we’re ready to see her go again in 2026.
