🏷️ MISSING FINISH TOKENS 🏷️

We are missing tokens 138 and 156.

If you accidentally took these home, please get in touch so we can arrange for their return.

Friendly reminder that Finish Tokens are required each week so it’s really important that they are boomerangs and come back to us after each event so we can use them again the following event.

Altona Beach parkrun
Event number 528
8th of August 2026

This week 200 people ran, jogged, and walked the course. 25 were first timers, 22 PB’s were recorded, and the numbers were made up by participants from 12 different clubs.

The event was made possible by 9 amazing volunteers:

Nyree Watson • Carly Hart • John Gray • Peter Tippner • Rachael Thompson • Sarah Hurse • Leita Shawyer • Katrina Loizides • Angela Schmerl

Next week our roster is looking skinny again, with the following core positions needing to be filled for the event to go ahead:

⏱️ Timekeeper
🎟️ Finish Tokens
🤳 Barcode scanner x 2
🔍 Event day course check
⛏️ Pre-event set up

Great to have but not essential for the event to go ahead:

📸 Photographer (can be done whilst doing the course as well).

Our participation numbers are always very healthy, but we are always in need of volunteers, often with many call outs being put out each week. So please get in touch if you can help out either by commenting on this post, a DM or emailing [email protected]

We love meeting new people and our RD’s are an amazing bunch to get to volunteer with who will give training and help on the day if you’re unsure of a role.

Have a great day ☺️

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers. They do a wonderful job and parkrun doesn’t happen without them.
Disappointing to hear that there were comments made today regarding last weeks issues with results.
Please be mindful both Saturday volunteers and the core VOLUNTEER event team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our parkrun operates smoothly with the aim of having as close to accurate results as possible are volunteers. parkrun is a FREE community event that runs solely on volunteers, without them it doesn’t happen… it’s literally that simple. Please be mindful and respectful to the volunteer team when commenting about any opinions with how things have ended up.

We look forward to hosting event number 528 if we get a Barcode Scanner 📱 and someone to help with Pre Event Setup 🔨.

Enjoy the sunshine today ☀️
