Seddon Cricket Club

Off the back of our Division 1 All Abilities premiership on Monday, the club now has two more sides competing in VTCA Grand Finals this weekend.

🏏 2nds vs Sunshine United – Selwyn Park (Saturday & Sunday)
🏏 3rds vs Laverton – Hanmer Reserve (tomorrow).

Get down to Hanmer tomorrow and/or Selwyn Park across the weekend and get behind the lads. Your support on the boundary makes a real difference.

The last time the club won three flags in a season was 2011/12 (1sts, 2nds & U15s). With Monday’s All Abilities premiership already secured, we now have a chance to do it again.

🏆 All Abilities Premiers 🏆

What an incredible result for our Division 1 All Abilities team, defending 82 to defeat Mount Waverley Uniting in today’s Grand Final!

Captain Dennis Wilkinson was the star of the show, taking 5 wickets in a match-winning performance. A huge moment also came from former captain Matt Perry, who took a match-defining catch to dismiss Mount Waverley’s captain and best batter, leaving them one wicket short with just 6 runs to get.

This achievement is even more special given our All Abilities program only started in the 2023/24 season.

A big thank you to All Abilities Coordinator Jamie Smythe for the fantastic work running the program, and to Brian Rooney, whose vision helped get the All Abilities program started at Seddon.

An amazing effort by everyone involved.

Seddon CC Community Day is almost here – this Sunday 25 January!

A full day of cricket, community, food and live music at Hanmer Reserve/Pavilion.

🔥 BBQ Lunch (1pm onwards)
Burgers, sausages, pulled beef, chicken thighs, bread and salads will be available while you enjoy the All Abilities match and on-field activities.

🍕 Dinner (6pm-7pm)
Pizzas in the rooms as we roll into the FIFA tournament (6–8pm) and live band The Quantum Psychics (8–11pm).

From our All Abilities match, to on-field activities and live music to close out the night – this is a true celebration of everything Seddon CC stands for.
