Barden Ridgebacks Netball Club Barden Ridgebacks Netball Club Inc. We are now proudly into our 17th year! Our club colours and Navy and White, top and skirt with a white splash.

was formed in 2000 by a very committed and enthusiastic group of women from Barden Ridge, a small suburb in the beautiful Sutherland Shire. Our club is supported by the local community and the Barden Ridgebacks Netball Club is truly appreciative of the support provided by our Sponsors. You will find these local businesses advertised on our website, and we encourage you to support them. We have a dedicated committee, many of whom play netball themselves, and are parents of players. If you would like to be part of our club in the form of coaching, managing or going the committee, you are most welcome!

Coach of the Year! Presented by our wonderful sponsor Family First Dental
Our Coach of the Year is someone whose passion for netball and genuine care for his players are evident in everything he does.
This season, he took on an incredible workload, coaching and supporting three teams while also mentoring one of our developing coaches. He has given an enormous amount of his time and energy to our club, always focusing on helping every player improve, recognise her strengths and reach her full potential.
His impact can be seen in the growth, confidence and success of the players and teams he has worked with throughout the season. He challenges his players to be their best while ensuring they feel supported, valued and confident. He takes the time to understand the individual needs and wellbeing of each player, creating an environment that is both enjoyable and rewarding.
He has earned enormous respect from his players and their families. The fact that so many girls describe this as their best season yet and want to return to be coached by him again is perhaps the greatest testament to the impact he has made.
His passion, hard work and dedication are second to none, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him as part of Barden Ridgebacks.

Di Hill Memorial Trophy (In honour of Di Hill and her incredible contribution to BRNC) presented by our wonderful sponsor Metro Chiropractic Clinic
This year, the Di Hill Memorial Trophy is being awarded jointly to two people whose contributions behind the
scenes have made an enormous difference to our club.
Our first recipient is one of those incredibly valuable people who works tirelessly without ever seeking recognition. She is quiet and unassuming and simply gets on with whatever needs to be done because she genuinely cares about Ridgebacks and wants to see our club succeed.
She is our “checker”—the person who double-checks the details and ensures everything is organised, accurate
and ready to go. She is often the safety net behind our committee, noticing the little things that could easily be
missed and quietly making sure they are taken care of.
She has a hand in almost every part of our club, including equipment, uniforms, administration, secretarial duties and grants. Her work securing grant funding has also made a significant contribution, directly benefiting our members and helping the club continue to grow.
Our second recipient has made an extraordinary contribution through his commitment to fundraising and sponsorship. The strength of our sponsorship program is largely due to his hard work, persistence and ability to build genuine relationships within our community.
He has spent countless hours contacting businesses, following up opportunities and ensuring our sponsors
feel valued and connected to our club. His efforts have allowed us to provide more opportunities for our
players, families and programs.
Both recipients have generously contributed their time, energy and expertise, often without the wider club community seeing just how much they do.

The Maree Jackson Teen Award presented by our wonderful sponsor Menai Orthodontics
The recipient of this award is a wonderful role model and an incredibly valued member of our club. She is confident, caring, mature and well-spoken, and she is always willing to put her hand up and help wherever she is needed.
What makes her contribution so special is the many different roles she takes on within our club. She is a player, an umpire and a coach, and she approaches every one of these roles with the same enthusiasm, confidence and commitment.
As an umpire, she is composed, knowledgeable and confident in her decisions. As a coach, she communicates
clearly, gives instructions with confidence and shows maturity well beyond her years. This season, she led her team all the way to the finals, demonstrating that she has a very bright future ahead of her in coaching.
As a player, she is a determined defender who gives absolutely everything for her team. Her fitness, commitment and work ethic allow her to keep competing for the entire game. She is exciting to watch and always represents our club with pride.
However, it is not only what she achieves on the court that makes her deserving of this award. It is the way she supports others, gives her time so generously and sets such a wonderful example for our younger players.

We were incredibly lucky to have the Member for Holsworthy, Tina Ayyad MP, join us at our Presentation Day to present the inaugural Ridgie Community Spirit Award.
The recipient of this Award has supported our club in almost every possible
way this year—as a player, trainee coach, umpire, umpire mentor, school holiday program assistant and enthusiastic volunteer.
She has a wonderful ability to connect with younger girls, building their confidence and encouraging them to develop their skills. She has supported all our school holiday programs, umpired at gala days and mentored developing umpires as they challenged themselves to take on more senior games.
She has also played an important role in our fundraising, volunteering at our Menai Marketplace information days and helping to plan, prepare and work at our first Bunnings BBQ. She is always willing to step forward, give her time and help wherever she is needed.
In every role she takes on, she demonstrates leadership, generosity, encouragement and a genuine desire to help others—the exact qualities this award was created to recognise.

Our Club Person of the Year is someone whose hard work, reliability and commitment make an enormous difference to Barden Ridgebacks.
In her role as treasurer, she dedicates countless hours to ensuring our club’s finances are organised, accurate and carefully managed. It is a significant responsibility, and she approaches it with great care and always makes sure everything is as it should be.
However, her contribution extends far beyond her role as treasurer. She generously volunteers her time to support everything our club does, whether it is registrations, fundraising, club events or creating new opportunities for our players. Whenever help is needed, she is always willing to step in and do whatever she can.
Much of her work happens quietly behind the scenes, but it is essential to the successful running of our club.
Her dedication, generosity and willingness to help make her an incredibly valued member of the Ridgebacks
community.

Today was all about recognising our amazing players, coaches, managers, umpires and volunteers who make our club what it is.

We loved seeing all of our teams together one last time for 2026 and celebrating everything they’ve achieved throughout the season.
