Just your typical chess club. We meet from 7pm at the Mentone Activity Hub, 29 Venice Street, Mentone.
If you enjoy staring at a board of 64 black and white squares, and moving pieces around under the pressure of a ticking clock, then come and join us. Mentone Chess Club meets on Thursday evenings from 7pm till 10.30pm. We have both scheduled tournaments with ACF rated games, as well as casual nights. Club strength ranges from 1200 to 2000 ACF, but we welcome everyone, from beginner to master.

Last night guest WGM Julia Ryjanova gave a simul.exhibition to 24 players.Julia recently returned from Budapest where she represented Australia on board 1, in the bi-annual Olympiad.Thank-you to Julia!

On July 3rd 2024 Frankston hosted our annual interclub match. Thanks to Tim Broome for the hospitality and organising and to their players for giving us a game.The result produced a drawn match 4.5 - 4.5.Thanks to Frankston Chess Club for photo's.
