Saddle them up is about making the bond between horse and rider easier. We strive to give every horse a chance

In summer we complain we need the rain but this is ridiculous. Just when we think the ground is drying up we get a downpour. We have even moved our own horses to higher ground. The very last thing we want is clients horses getting mud fever or worse slipping in the mud and injuring themselves.
We want to thank all our clients for being patient during this time
Pat can’t wait to get back to doing what he does best and not stuck at home driving me crazy.

Since our yards are still ankle deep in mud and slosh, Pat and the boys decided to put our old boy back in harness. It’s been close on 10 years since he has been in harness.

It makes such a difference when a horse has had the correct foundations right from the beginning.

It’s been such a a wet winter and like everyone else our yards are mush and underwater. For the first time ever we have sent horses home until the grounds dry up.

Not everyone is happy but if you know us you know that the horses wellbeing is our first priority. We can’t in good conscious have horses standing in ankle deep mud

This will mean we will be behind the 8 ball when the grounds dry up. We hope you will all understand

Sometimes it’s not just the horses that need training. Sometimes we need to help owners to gain their confidence and skill to enjoy their partnership with their horses

We always ask when we book horses in that you as owners are going to have the time to continue the work when your horse comes home . There is nothing as disheartening for a trainer as putting in the hard yards for a client and then them not working their horse for months when they take the horse home .

Remember just recently we broke a little gypsy x to harness. We dropped her off to her owner last Saturday and yesterday he took her out for her first competition.
This is why we do what we do.
What makes this even more special is her owner is not an overly experienced harness driver and they are both learning and on this journey together
