Merredin Colts - Falcons The Merredin and Districts Junior Football Association (Colts) fields 2 teams, an under 13’s and under 16’s team in the Avon Junior Football Association.

The Merredin and Districts Junior Football Association (Colts) fields 2 teams, an under 13’s and under 16’s team in the Avon Junior Football Association, which comprises of two teams from Northam (Barons and Saints), a team from York and a team from Toodyay (5 in total). Our teams boast strong numbers, are enthusiastic and competitive. Our local kids play in the Avon Association and not the EDFL (Eastern Districts Football League) to allow our year 10 and 11 students to continue their football in like-minded age groups, who are often lost to football because of size and skill issues, when playing against men in the EDFL Reserve and League competitions. We are proud of the competition we are part of and of the passion and commitment our kids have for our Club. Our Colts train every Thursday from 4.30pm @ MRC&LC. Games are played Saturday mornings, thru T2 and T3 in Northam, York, Toodyay, Merredin & Kellerberrin. New players are always welcome. Please reach out if you have any queries.

If you've had a turn at washing the jumpers this year you might be just be as excited as I am to say THANK YOU to Marie Bartlett!

Marie has kindly donated TWO Tupperware wheelie bags to the Merredin Colts to use as our jumper bags for each team. They came out for their first run at the GRAND FINAL on the weekend and you'll see them in regular use next season. So much easier to move around than the bulky black tubs!

The jumpers are washed and snuggled away in their new bags ready for 2027! THANK YOU MARIE!!

Merredin Colts - Retired Playing Jumpers

With enormous thanks to WEST PERTH FC we have 2 brand new sets of playing jumpers this year – which means that we also have 2 older, now unused sets.

Thanks to Jaxon Bill for the inspiration, we have decided to sell the old playing jumpers to anyone who is keen to own one!

Jumpers will be a bargain $20 each.

Sale will open on Trybooking (link below) at 6pm Monday afternoon.

Jumpers will be available for collection at the Wind Up on Sunday 20th September (or by arrangement).

To check jumper numbers and sizes BEFORE ORDERING you will need to have a look at the number charts attached HERE (You can't see them in Trybooking).

For your interest you will find a list of the players who have worn each jumper over the past 4 years, as well as the SIZE for each jumper. Remember these are the numbers you wore in the OLD playing jumpers (NOT the jumper number that you are currently wearing!)

When you purchase your jumper you will be asked to select your top 3 preferences of jumper number ie;
1st Preference U16 #25
2nd Preference U16 #22
3rd Preference U13 #27

We will do our very best to supply your first preference, however jumpers will be allocated on a first come basis and discretion may be used, so if your preferred jumper has already been sold you will be allocated your second or third preference.

Our 16’s started strong today, quickly gaining a 4 goal lead in the first quarter. Saints fought hard and slowly clawed their way back to finish with a nail biting final quarter – the score went up and down and it could have easily gone either way.

Unfortunately the win didn’t go our way, and Saints came out the winners by a very narrow 2 points.

We are massively proud of the playing group and their coaching team; Coach Bluey, Assistant Coach Chester and Runner Coops for their massive efforts, adaptability to circumstances and for embracing all elements of our wonderful game of football.

CONGRATULATIONS MERREDIN FALCONS U13’s

What a fantastic day for football! After a wet, cloudy drive from Merredin, we arrived in York to blue skies, sunshine and an enormous crowd full of eager spectators.

Our U13’s started strong and they never faltered, bringing home a sensational 76 point win.

Merredin 12-6 (78) defeated Barons 0-2 (2)

CONGRATULATIONS to our U13’s and Coach Carr and Assistant Coach/Runner Garrett Greenham on a fantastic game and a huge success! We are so proud of them!

CONGRATULATIONS also to RHYS ASKEW – R/Up Fairest and Best for the Avon Association AND Best on Ground in Grand Final.

THANK YOU to Kat, Marie, Trish and Zane for putting the banner together and to Clancy for providing the oranges and taking the jumpers home for their final wash.
