🇦🇺 2017 Australian Champion Sam Masters Signs for Sedgy Testimonial

Another big name has been locked in for the Justin Sedgmen 20 Year Testimonial, with 2017 Australian Speedway Champion Sam Masters confirmed for the line-up at Olympic Park Speedway, Mildura, on Saturday, January 16.

Masters has been one of Australia’s leading international riders for well over a decade, enjoying a successful career racing throughout Britain, Poland and Europe. A major highlight came in 2017 when he was crowned Australian Speedway Champion, while he has also represented Australia on the world stage.

For Justin, Masters’ appearance is a special one, with the pair having raced together since their junior days.

“Masters and I have raced each other since we were in juniors. He is a great mate and had a lot of good times racing in teams together or against each other,” Sedgmen said.

Masters joins 2017 World Champion Jason Doyle and British young gun Will Cairns in what is already shaping up as a quality field for the Testimonial.

British Wizz Kid Cairns Joins Sedgy Testimonial

One of the brightest young talents in world speedway, Will Cairns, is the latest rider confirmed for the Justin Sedgmen 20 Year Testimonial at Olympic Park Speedway, Mildura, on Saturday, January 16.

The 17-year-old British sensation has quickly established himself as one of the sport’s most exciting young prospects. Cairns currently races for Belle Vue Aces in Britain’s Premiership and Poole Pirates in the Championship, while also competing in Poland with Zielona Góra.

His career highlights already include winning the 2024 British 500cc Youth Championship, claiming bronze in the 2024 FIM SGP3 World Championship, helping Poole to the 2025 Championship League and Knockout Cup double, and qualifying for the 2026 SGP2 World Under-21 Championship series.

Justin Sedgmen said he was delighted to have Cairns returning to Mildura.

“Will is a good kid. He is one of the best young riders in the world and I’m glad he is coming to Mildura again,” Sedgmen said.

Cairns joins 2017 World Speedway Champion Jason Doyle in what is shaping up to be a quality line-up for Sedgmen’s Testimonial, with more rider announcements still to come.
