Hey It’s John
Owner and trainer at Cronulla Boxing Club.
A late bloomer to boxing, Birchy had been nagging me for years to come down and try out boxing. The first time I put the boxing gloves on I was hooked, I fell in love with boxing. Wish I would have discovered it earlier.
I am now preparing for my first fight, with excitement and nerves. Fingers crossed I make Cronulla Boxing Club proud.
I may have only been boxing for a few years but I have been involved in sports coaching for 20 years. I am a qualified Level 1 Boxing coach and Level 2 Rugby Union coach. Coaching principals are the same from sport to sport so I have the experience to motivate and train our members.
I have coached junior rugby union at a representative level with Southern Districts Junior Rugby Union for over 10 years and Sydney Junior Rugby Union for over 5 years. Fitness has been a big part of my roles in rugby and I enjoy running the districts pre-season fitness program.
My fitness journey started with playing rugby as a kid and then cycling and triathlons. I have continued to cycle for the majority of my life, its the best low impact fitness. But cycling has had to move over for my new love of boxing.
Come down to Cronulla Boxing Club and train with me.

My name is Stefan Sacilotto.
Owner and trainer at Cronulla Boxing Club.
My journey into boxing and high level sports has been a long road and I've experienced all the highs and lows that come with the journey. It would be fair to say if I wasn't highly motivated and passionate I would have given it away by now.
At age 5 I started Taekwondo and had my first fight a week later, I proceeded to do Taekwondo for the next 10 years and became a black belt under the guidance of Australia's best Taekwondo practitioner Master Yoo. In Taekwondo I was lucky enough to compete in over 60 bouts and was undefeated in NSW. I had my first loss in a National championship final in which I avenged the following year to become National Black Belt Taekwondo Champion.
I was fortunate enough to have parents who dedicated a lot of time to my sports, they also supported me to play soccer. In football I was lucky enough to represent my country in the U19 Australian Schoolboys team. I then spent time in professional clubs across England, most notably a stint at Leeds United FC and Preston North End FC. After 4 years of back to back ankle/leg breaks it was time to change sports.
Next was a training session with David Birchell and Ryan Waters persuaded by my brother, the next vision was clear. I wanted to compete again and boxing would be it. 12 months from that date I became the 75kg Golden Gloves champion via TKO. 7 years on I've become a student and teacher of the sport and I’m still learning everyday. I hope to make my professional debut sometime this year under the guidance of David Birchell.
I love what I do, I love pushing people to their limits and letting them find out what they are capable of. Allowing people to unlock the potential they possess.
