The Mitchell Park Sports & Community Club would like to pass on its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of our Life Member, Annette Pretty, after her passing yesterday.
Annette was a long-term committee member, working 11 years on the Club Executive as either Secretary or Treasurer, including 5 years where she filled both roles at the same time. A truly massive effort. She was very passionate about our club, always trying to find new ways of making us better off the field, so we could perform better on it. She was very proud of her club.
She served thousands of schnitzels in the kitchen, did hundreds of hours of admin and poured countless pints behind the bar, including months without wages to help us recover, after a previous manager had misappropriated funds. An effort for which she was recognised with awards from both Clubs SA and the City of Marion.
In 2019 Annette became a very well deserving Life Member of our Sports Club. She put the Community in our Community Club, returning to the Club Committee and calling the numbers when we tried to restart Bingo for the retired locals of Mitchell Park.
To John, Billy, Cassie, Dylan, Jenine and your extended families, we are thinking of you all at this sad time. Vale Annette, you'll be sadly missed... a true champion of Mitchell Park. 🇮🇹🦁
