You've heard about our Long Jump Appeal โ now there's an easy, tax-deductible way to help.
For 20+ years, our four run-ups have been where Flyers kids learn to jump and fly. We're extending and resurfacing our two 30m rubber run-ups to a full 40m and rubberising our two 20m dolomite ones โ so all four are safe and competition-standard, for every age from Tiny Tots to U17s.
Through the Australian Sports Foundation, every donation is tax-deductible, and gifts before June 30 can be claimed this financial year. ๐
Give a little, so they can jump a lot ๐ Donate or share ๐

This morning, our very own Mel Hodson called into Triple M Adelaide 104.7 to nominate the Flyers for their Auto Masters 'Kit for Kids' $5,000 prize โ and she did an amazing job!
Catch her on air here (login and jump to the 41-minute mark):

We're now in the running to win funding to resurface our long jump run-ups, which are quickly degrading and are now well overdue for replacement. It's a project we simply can't fund alone โ so this is a huge opportunity for our club.
The more nominations we get, the better our chances. It takes less than 2 minutes โ just copy and paste the responses below into the online form.
๐ Nominate here before May 7th: https://triplem.listnr.com/w/adelaide/triple-ms-kits-for-kids/
Resurfacing the long jump run-up tracks at our athletics club. The rubber surface on our run-ups has been degrading for some time and is now perishing badly โ creating an uneven and potentially unsafe surface for our young athletes. A proper resurfacing would restore safe, fair conditions for kids to learn and compete in one of athletics' most exciting and fundamental events.
Plympton Flyers Little Athletics Club has been serving the south-western suburbs of Adelaide for over 40 years, giving hundreds of children aged 3 to 17 the opportunity to participate in a fun, inclusive and affordable sport. Our volunteers give up countless hours every week to run a club that puts kids first โ but we simply don't have the budget to tackle major infrastructure repairs like this on our own. Winning this prize would mean every child who steps onto that run-up does so safely and that the facility continues to serve our community for years to come.
Share this post, tag a fellow Flyers family, and let's get as many nominations in as possible. Every single one counts! ๐๐ฉถ

CLUB RECORDS BROKEN - Ancient Edition โ 2025/26 (1 of 4)
This season, our athletes rewrote some of the oldest pages in our record books. Records โ some dating back decades โ finally fell.
๐ U11 Girls 400m | Grace Jolley
โฑ 1:06.98 (22 Mar 2026)
Prev: 1:07.10 โ Samantha Byrnes (1989/90)
๐ Record age: ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ
A record that had stood since 1990, broken by just 0.12 seconds on the first day of the State Championships. It was a remarkable race with Indii Backwell, finishing second by .01 with 1:06.99 โ which would also have broken the 36-year-old record. Two athletes, one race, one historic Plympton Flyers moment. โญโญ
๐ U11 Girls 800m | Grace Jolley

Prev: 2:37.70 โ Kelly Mutton (1992/93)

Prev: 2:56.20 โ Jodie Monteodorisio (2005/06)

A 20-year-old record smashed by nearly 9 seconds โ one of five centre records Sophie broke this season! โญ
๐ U11 Girls 1500m | Maria Kowalczyk
โฑ 5:18.37 (22 Mar 2026)
Prev: 5:20.40 โ Eva Pfitzner (2022/23)
๐ Record age: 3 years โ but the story goes deeper
Eva Pfitzner broke this record in 2023 after Kirby Mutton held it since 1995 โ a remarkable 28 years, and we thought it could stand for another 28 before being challenged. Now, just three seasons later, Maria has surpassed it again. Three record holders, spanning three decades of Plympton Flyers history. โญ
What an extraordinary season for our athletes. More records to come this week! ๐
