"High CNS Workout

I alternate my workouts based on high/low CNS demand.
On the high days I will do all of my speed, weightlifting and heavy movements.

On the low days i will do all of my accessory work." 📸 .warno

"Velocity loss training is a method of prescribing resistance training based on the decline in bar speed within a set rather than simply counting repetitions.

The purpose of using velocity loss thresholds is to preserve rep quality by limiting excessive fatigue accumulation. As fatigue progresses, movement velocity drops, which can shift the training stimulus away from high-quality force production toward low-quality, metabolically driven fatigue. By stopping a set once a predetermined velocity loss threshold is reached, we aim to maintain motor unit recruitment, target specific joint velocities, and maximize the intended adaptation of the exercise.

I often use velocity loss training in the off-season because it promotes high intent and high output across repetitions. Athletes respond well to the external feedback of seeing bar speed in real time, which helps drive movement intent and effort. Rather than training to technical or mechanical failure, the focus remains on quality of contraction and maintaining performance characteristics of the movement."

"We talked about the "Pyramid Effect" on Monday. Here is what it looks like when we track the actual data. 📊⚡️

🎥 The Foundation: 140kg Front Squat moving at 0.65 m/s (Mean Velocity)

🎥 The Peak: 100kg Sn**ch moving at 2.27 m/s (Peak Velocity)

Notice how neither of these lifts are grinders?
Strength isn't just surviving heavy singles. It’s moving sub-maximal weight with absolute speed, precision, and intent. The speed you generate in your foundational base lifts (like driving 140kg out of the hole at 0.65 m/s) directly dictates the violent power you can produce in your classic lifts (like snapping a 100kg barbell overhead at 2.2 m/s).

When your 80% is moving with this kind of documented velocity, your 100% is absolutely going to go up. 📈

Stop just surviving your working sets. Track your speed, lift with intent, and dominate the bar." 📸 .wl and

"Training hard is one thing. 🐺

Training with precision is another. At GVN, we use technology as tool to make sure we are attacking the qualities we want, making sure we get the adaptions our athletes need. By tracking output and movement in real time, we make sure every rep is done with purpose, not guesswork.

The result? More powerful, robust athlete. Better, more efficient performance outcomes. Training that actually transfers to the game.

Train with intent. Train with data. Train with precision."

"Dynamic effort box squats with chains.
The goal is simple. Move the bar fast.

Chains increase resistance as the athlete stands up, so the top of the lift gets heavier while the bottom stays explosive. That forces acceleration through the entire rep instead of coasting once the bar gets moving.

Gymaware tracks the numbers so we are not guessing. Bar speed, output, and consistency from set to set.
Intent matters. Data keeps it honest.
Strength built with speed transfers better when it is measured.
Train for performance.

"My Athletic Assessment

The first time I meet an athlete I need to see them go through some movement screens to see if any obvious problems show up.

After that we look at their performance metrics, I do this so we can later re-test them and show their progression to parents/coaches/scouts.

Every program is tailored to the athlete at my gym, so this allows me to build them the ideal program to suit their needs and goals.

"Velocity-based training (VBT) has become the cornerstone of my training for the last ~4 years. Every set is regulated by bar speed - objective feedback keeps intensity high without guessing or grinding reps unnecessarily." 📸 featuring GymAware FLEX

"Great Trap Bar Deadlift session tonight! Finished up with 3 sets of singles with 410 lbs at .55 m/s; 460 lbs. at .42 m/s and 500 lbs. at .27 m/s. My goal is to hit triple body weight so 550 lbs." 📸 featuring GymAware RS 🔥

"Some footage of who is two weeks out from trials with Box Squat for 3 reps at 190kg moving the bar using at .5m/s and a Deadlift for 1 rep at 190kg. He is currently weighing 82kg so these two lifts are easily over Double Body Weight."
