πππ An amazing weekend in Newcastle for our Under 16 girls at the State Championships!
Our SH 1 Div 2 team finished second in their pool, securing a spot in the semi-finals after a strong campaign. The girls gave it their all but were unable to progress to the grand final.
Our SH 2 Div 4 team went one step further, charging their way into the grand final and coming home with silver medals after a terrific tournament. An outstanding achievement and a reward for all their hard work across the weekend.
Representing Mittagong with pride were Milla C, Heidi J, Milla I, Heidi B, Tilly, Georgie, Lucy, Addi and Abbey. We are incredibly proud of the way these girls competed, supported their teammates, and represented both their club and the Southern Highlands on the state stage.
Congratulations girls on a wonderful weekend of hockey! πππ

πππ What a fantastic day at the U12s Carnival in Moorebank yesterday!
We had players in both teams representing the club, with the White team competing in the 1st Division and the Blue team in the 2nd Division. While neither team progressed to the Grand Final, every player gave it their all, played with great spirit, and represented the club proudly.
Our players are: Hudson, Austin M, Austin W, Finley, Jensen, Bridie, Carter, Emmett and Nate.
It was a day full of fun, teamwork, plenty of hockey, and lots of smiles. The kids should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they supported one another throughout the carnival.
A couple of fun family stats from the day:
π We had three Marshalls in the one team!
π And three members of the Williams family representing the club as well β one on one team and two on the other!
Thanks to all the players, coaches, managers and families who helped make it such a great day πππ

Our Under-10 Bobcats continued their impressive season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Frensham. In a game where every pass, tackle, and sprint mattered, it was Lily who found the back of the net with the match-winning goal. The Bobcats defended brilliantly for the remainder of the game, proving that sometimes one goal is all you need when your defence is tougher to crack than a frozen hockey ball on a winter morning.
The Under-10 Leopards were involved in a nail-biting contest against Robbo, finishing with a 0-0 draw. While the scoreboard remained empty, the game certainly wasn't short on action. Both teams attacked hard, defended bravely, and chased every loose ball as though it contained the last packet of post-game lollies. A draw was probably a fair result after an entertaining battle.
The Under-12 Jaguars came up against a strong Bowral side and unfortunately went down after a tough game. While the result didn't go their way, the Jaguars never stopped trying, showing plenty of determination and resilience. Every game is a chance to learn, improve, and grow as a team, and this group continues to do exactly that each week.
The Under-14 Cheetahs were absolutely flying against Burrawang, recording a dominant 5-0 win. Goals were shared around with Milly, Hayden, Henry, Louie, and Lucy all getting on the scoresheet. It was a terrific team performance, with great passing, smart positioning, and enough speed to make their namesake proud. If cheetahs really are the fastest animals on land, this team certainly gave them a run for their money.
The Under-16 Lions rounded out the weekend with a strong 2-1 victory over Burrawang. Goals from Charlie and Tilly helped secure the win in a competitive match. The Lions showed plenty of courage, teamwork, and determination, roaring loud when it mattered most to come away with the points.

Our first-grade men, the Lions, battled out a thrilling 3-all draw with Bowral. Ben was on fire with a brace, while Connor added the third. At the halfway mark of the season, the Lions are sitting proudly on top of the ladder and looking every bit the team to beat.
The second-grade Tigers went down to Robbo, but not without a fight. Steve Curcs found the back of the net twice with a pair of quality goals. Despite the result, the Tigers are sitting second on the ladder at the midway point of the season and remain firmly in the hunt.
The third-grade Cheetahs pounced all over Bowral in a dominant 6-1 victory. Adam, Chris and Drew each chipped in with a goal, while Tyson stole the show with a sensational hat-trick. The Cheetahs are also sitting atop the ladder halfway through the season and continue to roar along.
The Panthers came up against a strong Burrawang side and went down 4-2, but there were plenty of positives to take away. Noah bagged both goals and continues to be a threat in front of goal. The Panthers are working hard every week and are determined to climb the ladder as the season progresses.

Our first-grade women enjoyed a rare Friday night off, with their match deferred to a later date.
The second-grade Jaguars battled out an entertaining 3-all draw with Burrawang. Goals came from Flo, Milly, and Whitney. It was great to see so many Mittagong grades represented in this game with helpers coming from far & wide to make up numbers. The Jags currently sitting fifth on the ladder.
The second-grade Tigers continued their impressive season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Moss Vale. Captain Whitney found the back of the net once again, helping the Tigers remain firmly on top of the table.
The third-grade Cheetahs faced a challenge before they even stepped onto the field, finding themselves without a goalkeeper just two hours before the game. Thankfully, Liv answered the call and bravely donned the pads against Sports. Despite a determined effort, the girls went down 3-1, with helper Hayley scoring a cracking goal to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The Cheetahs are currently sitting fifth and continue to work their way up the ladder
