Golf Cadet Comp 2pm Sundays, basic golf ability and clubs required, comp fee $5 cadets $10 non cadets, girls and boys, winner takes all, supervised.
We believe that golf is not only a fun game to play but also helps young people develop qualities that will stay with them throughout their lives. Our Junior Development Program encourages qualities such as respect, honesty, integrity and friendship. It provides the opportunity for juniors, regardless of their ability, to learn, improve, enjoy and respect all that the game of golf and membership at Mona Vale Golf Club has to offer.
Our 2023 Encourage Shield Team were fine tuning their short game this afternoon ahead of the Encourage Shield season commencing in October! They were able to understand the importance of a good short game as well as getting creative with certain shots around the green using different clubs. Lots of laughs and banter in between made the afternoon even more enjoyable. Big thanks to Shortees Golf for letting us use their facilities ⛳️

Yesterday, our Encourage Shield team got the opportunity to play with the Major Pennant players as part of the Encourage Shield/Major Pennant day. The aim of the day was to give the kids some experience playing with the best players in the club and watching how they play. Asking lots of questions was the main focus of the day and the big guns certainly helped, giving plenty of advice to our ES team! The event of the day was a par event and the scores were outstanding, with Kallum Grant winning the Juniors with a score of +4 and Graham Nes winning the Seniors with a score of +2. Overall, it was a fantastic day despite the weather and the team thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to Kate and Russ for setting up and organising Lunch for a post game feed!

2022 Encourage Shield has come to a heartbreaking close! The team played their last match at Long Reef Golf Club against Killara GC and needed to win, and other results to go our way for us to move on to the Semi Finals. The match was very close and could have gone either way and it all came down to Hugh Grant’s match. Hugh was 1 down with 2 to play and walked off the 18th green with a 1 up victory, giving MVGC the win 4-2! Unfortunately for us, we missed out on a Semi Final spot by half a point from Cromer. 3 draws and 2 wins resulting in an unbeaten season is something to be very proud of! Special mention to Kallum Grant, Hugh Grant, and Reuben Read for being undefeated in their matches. Big thanks to all the parents and members for their support throughout the season. I have no doubt we will see this team develop into future Major Pennant Players 🙌🏻
