Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads in our Ortiz Academy family. ❤️

Yesterday was a really special morning, getting to see our kids share the mats with their dads and create memories together through Jiu-Jitsu.

For us, the academy has always been about more than just training. It’s about family, connection, setting an example, and sharing something meaningful with the people closest to you.

Thank you to every dad who joined us yesterday, and to all the fathers who support their children both on and off the mats every week.

Join us on Saturday, 5 September at 10:00am for a special Father’s Day Family Session at Ortiz Martial Arts Academy.

Our kids and teens will have the chance to share the mats, learn, have some fun and train alongside their dads for the morning.

No Jiu-Jitsu experience is needed, just come along and enjoy the session together.

For the past nine years, Douglas has continued to make the long drive to train with us, showing a level of commitment, loyalty, and consistency that deserves immense respect.

His promotion is proof that age and distance are never barriers when you are truly committed to improving. Through every challenge, Douglas has continued to show up, learn, and put in the work.

Some promotions mean a little more because of everything it took to reach them.

For the past eight years, Kye has been part of our academy, growing with us through every stage of their journey. We have watched the beginner who first stepped onto the mats develop into the martial artist and person they are today.

The Brown Belt represents years of commitment, sacrifice, resilience and trust in the process. It represents all the difficult sessions, the lessons learned through setbacks, the friendships built and the decision to continue showing up year after year.

We are incredibly proud and grateful to have been part of this journey. It’s great to have you with us for Eight years and be a part of the Ortiz Family.

Congratulations on earning your Brown Belt, Kye. This promotion is deeply deserved, and it has been an honour watching you grow. The journey is not over yet, but this is a moment we will always be proud of!!

A well earned promotion for one of our dedicated young competitors, Billy!

In just over two years of training, he has already achieved some incredible results, including becoming a Pan Pacific Champion and consistently proving himself against some of the strongest competitors at a national level.

Competition results are only one part of his journey. This promotion recognises the discipline, technical development, consistency and maturity he continues to show every day in training.

Congratulations on earning your Yellow and Black Belt. A major milestone, but still only the beginning. Keep working, learning and representing Team Ortiz with pride! 🥋🏆
