Montmorency Football & Netball Club would like to sincerely thank Matt Ellis for his outstanding contribution as Coach of our Senior Women’s 2 side across the last two seasons.

Matt is much more than a coach, he is a fantastic community and club person, and someone who is genuinely admired and respected right across our club.

His commitment, leadership and care for the girls was evident throughout the season, and he did a magnificent job developing not only the team, but the individuals within it. Most importantly, Matt earned the respect and trust of all the players, creating an environment where the girls could enjoy their football, develop and give their very best.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you gave to the Women’s 2 program, Matt. Your contribution has been greatly appreciated by the players, coaches, volunteers and everyone at Mont.

Happy Father’s Day from everyone at Montmorency!

Our Mont 1 netball girls played in the grand final last night. They led by 1 in the first quarter, they got us in the 2nd and then came back from being down by 7 in the last few minutes of the game to close the gap by 3.

Unfortunately didn’t get in the win but so much to take away from their season. 🖤🤍

Men’s sides locked in for the qualifying final tomorrow 🖤🤍

A huge double header for our men’s qualifying final against Heidelberg, as they both look at getting a ticket to the big dance.

💫NEW SENIOR WOMEN’S HEAD COACH - 2027💫

Montmorency Football Netball Club is excited to announce the appointment of our new Senior Women’s Head Coach, Matt Lemire for the 2027 season.

His connection to Montmorency stretches back to 1988, when he first pulled on the jumper as a junior before progressing into the senior men’s program from 1991–1995. He returned to the club in 2019 when his two daughters began playing, continuing a connection that has played a significant role in his life, including being the place where he met his wife, Michelle.

His coaching journey began in 2011 at Hurstbridge Junior Football Club and has since included a range of coaching roles across junior and female football. More recently, he has served as Head Coach of Montmorency’s U16 and U18 Girls, coached within the Northern Knights Futures Squad, and spent the past two seasons as an assistant and line coach with our Senior Women’s program.

Stepping into the senior role, his vision extends well beyond football. He is passionate about being a positive role model for young athletes and helping develop resilient, strong, open-minded and, most importantly, good people.

He aims to create an environment that is safe, respectful and provides every player with the opportunity to express themselves, while encouraging them to understand the choices they make and the influence those choices can have on their outcomes, both on and off the field.

After more than three decades of connection to Montmorency, we’re incredibly excited to see him take the next step and lead our Senior Women into 2027.
