NEW BIKE DAY & WILD ADVENTURE INCOMING. Brand new Specialized Diverge with all the extras. A few of us are heading out to the New England high country bike packing for a few days this weekend. The Diverge is my weapon of choice cause of is comfy geometry, big tyre clearance and Future Shock suspension in the headset.

I’ve upgraded the wheelset to the Roval Terra Aero’s cause 1) they look hot 2) they’re light for their depth 3) they’re got FlatStop pinch protection 4) they’re 27mm intervals for wider tyres. And after a lot of debate I put on the Schwalbe G-One RX Pro tyres in 50mm.

These have brilliant rolling resistance for tarmac yet offer incredible grip in gravel climbing. Setup tubeless. We’ll be covering almost 300kms and 4000m of elevation over 3 days so needed to get this right. I haven’t ridden them but they’re really popular right now and highly rated.

The Diverge has lots of mount points across the bike. I went with Restrap fork bag mounts where I’ll strap on some 5L dry bags.

Old Man Mountain rear rack and pannier. Maybe a little more heavy duty than I need, but they have massive storage capacity, very rugged, super compatible to most bikes and they look cool.
