I’d like to introduce my new ride for our Spring / Summer period - it is a Wilderness Systems TARPON 140.
My previous yak (Pryml Titan) was a little small for me and some gear, and sat a little low in the water.
The Tarpon 140 is a genuine 14 feet long and has plenty of storage space, only weighs 31 kilograms and has a weight capacity of 170 kilograms.
I have been busy replacing cord, fitting rod holder set but will get it in the water ASAP.

So the summary of our Nambucca long weekend - little bream city in the Nambucca River with little of anything else.
Head 30 minutes into the Macleay River @ South West Rocks - some very good quality flathead.
My best was a beautiful girl measured at 68cm - my 17 yo son who is very much new to fishing bagged a cracking 87.5cm specimen.
Both big girls were returned healthily to the depths to continue a healthy breeding life.
Highly recommended South West Rocks Estuary Charters if you are Loki g for a professional fishing guide - the skipper Matt was superb.

Staying in riverside cabins at Pelican Caravan Park - also heading on a charter with with Matt from South West Rocks Estuary Charters.
Two day work week for me - cannot wait to pack the gear and head over with my beautiful bride Nikki and our youngest Charlie.

Only carp to be had on the Peel River on this trip but still great fun was had in the middle of Tamworth…….life is good. 🎣🛶😉

In between rainfall events - it has been nice to have some nice still Peel River water smack bang in the middle of my hometown (Tamworth).
Good deep holes with some fish here and there - just good water for the boys to paddle in and learn their craft.

Very enjoyable first visit last weekend to a small dam a little out of Armidale called Dumaresq Dam.
Even the fishing was successful with plenty of little redfin and a cracking near 40cm specimen boated - happy days.
Easy dam to paddle around - pick your weather though because it was blowing a dog off a chain when I was there.
Video is a bit rough - my apologies!!

This my rig all ready for Spring - my actual one is green and black.

LOOK OUT SPRING - I think I have found a new haunt to visit - Pottsville South Holiday Park.
Strong incoming tide late this arvo - a couple of quality bream caught in and around the bridge.
