On Sunday Sienna & Brodie Competed in Round 8 of the SWF NSW Outlaw Karts Championship at Nepean Raceway, it was a hot and hard day of racing that unfortunately ended with both kids crashing out of their respective Feature races.

Sienna again found more and more speed throughout the day, she had a bit of a wild start to the day with a few spins and scary moments in the first heat but thanks to a few tips from Craig Chaffey we made some adjustments and got her kart handling a lot better for the rest of the day, unfortunately in the feature the Leader made contact with her while trying to lap her resulting in a pretty hard hit from a car that had nowhere to go ending her race.

Brodie had an eventful day with a unfavorable grid draw putting him in the midfield for the heats and he struggled getting involved in a few incidents that typically happen in the midfield, heat 3 was his best run of the day running 2nd for a while before making a mistake clipping an infield bollard and spinning out, in the feature while trying to make his way through the field Brodie got alongside another kart trying to make a pass and the gap closed he road over a tire got a little air time that resulted in the chain coming off the kart ending his race also.

We were lucky enough to get some great shots of Sienna running her first laps in a speedway kart Yesterday Thanks to Michael Wyllie from Total Focus Photos, he has been one of the biggest supporters of the kids racing Journeys capturing Brodies first run in a speedway kart back in 2022, his first outlaw kart race in 2024 and Siennas first runs in a Outlaw kart and speedway kart this year as well as countless races inbetween! Truly special to have all these moments captured in great quality photos for us to look back on for years to come.

Last Weekend Sienna & Brodie Vassall competed in the CSR Fabrications Sunday Slides Special Event with the NSW Outlaw Karts at Nepean Raceway, We are very proud of how the kids went both trying very hard all day.

It was another solid day of learning for Sienna in her 2nd Race meet getting lots of laps and learning her craft, her pace improved throughout the day, even passing a car and had no spins until the feature race unfortunately spinning on the last lap from 5th position.

Brodie started the day strong leading alot of the first heat race but hesitated when lapping a car finishing 2nd to the super fast #91 of Austin Street, heat 2 starting from the rear he passed some karts finishing 8th, that put him the the pole shuffle and he got knocked out in his first attempt and stated the feature in P5, Brodie got a good start in the feature race quickly moving up to 3rd, while battling for 2nd he caught a lapped car at a awkward spot and spun bringing out the yellow and going to the rear for the restart, he drove hard from the back passing half the field to come home 6th at the finish.
