Community Notice🚫

Please be advised that the 25m pool at Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre has been closed for the remainder of today, Wednesday 22 April, due to a contamination incident.

We deeply apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

We would also like to remind our community that these incidents have a significant impact on the centre, our staff, scheduled programs, and other patrons. When contamination occurs, it affects many areas of facility operations and can be very disruptive for everyone. We kindly ask all patrons to be mindful and respectful when using our facilities.

Children who are prone to toilet accidents are required to wear a swim nappy while in the pool. Disposable swim nappies are available for purchase at the front counter, and reusable swim nappies are also available. We also ask parents and guardians to please ensure children take regular toilet breaks and to check swim nappies regularly.

To our team: thank you for showing up with smiles, energy, and that calm professionalism you bring every single day. Thank you for the early starts, the set-up and pack-down, the behind-the-scenes jobs that no one sees, and for looking after everyone with such care. Days like this don’t run smoothly by accident — they run smoothly because of the effort, teamwork, and pride you put into what you do.

To the Moranbah community: thank you for coming along, joining in, and bringing such a great atmosphere. Thank you for supporting local events, for being respectful, patient, and positive, and for helping make the day feel welcoming and safe for everyone — especially the families and kids who came along to celebrate.

Australia Day is about community, connection, and gratitude — and we truly felt that. We’re so lucky to live and work in a town like Moranbah.
