Vale John Petrie. 🕊️💔

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of John Petrie earlier this week.

John was a legendary junior coach at Mordialloc during the 1980s and a much-loved part of our club’s history. He played an important role in developing young footballers and helping shape the next generation of Bloods players.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to John’s family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

For those who knew John, we’d love you to share your favourite memories and stories as we remember his contribution to our great club.

*Funeral details*
Thursday 29 October at 2pm
Tobin Brothers, Mt Martha

Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Dava Hotel, Mt Martha, to share a drink and remember John.

RIP, John. Forever part of the Bloods. ❤️

🚨 2026 WOMEN’S BEST & FAIREST WINNERS 🚨

What a year for our two women’s teams at the Bloods! Our Division 2 girls made it through to the Preliminary Final, while our Division 3 girls reached the Grand Final in their first season together, with plenty playing footy for the very first time.

A massive congratulations to our two Best & Fairest winners.

Division 2 (Nat Cardamone Award): Brooklyn Towler
Division 3 (Leah Lavelle Award): Matilda Morris

Special mention to Brooklyn, who went one step further after finishing runner-up last year. Such a humble player with so much talent.

And a special congratulations to Matilda, who becomes the first-ever winner of the newly named Leah Lavelle Award. A fantastic achievement and a special moment in our Division 3 girls' history.

Well done to both girls! Two very deserving winners after brilliant seasons. Plenty to look forward to in 2027...

Go Bloods! ❤️🤍

What a year for our three men’s teams! All three finished as Minor Premiers and reached the Grand Final. Falling short of the ultimate prize still hurts, but there’s plenty to be proud of. We’ll learn from it, come back stronger and aim to go one better in 2027!

A massive congratulations to our three Best & Fairest winners from our 2026 Presentation Night! 👏

SFNL ANNUAL AWARDS 2026 🏆✨

A few snaps from a great night last Friday at the 2026 SFNL Annual Awards at Sandown Greyhounds.

A huge congratulations to Toby Plant, who claimed his second consecutive Division 2 League Best & Fairest, and Mitch Brown, who took home the Saturday Open League Best & Fairest. Two brilliant individual seasons and very well-deserved recognition for both lads. Plus all the award winners in the night… 👏🏻

The MFNC also finished a close runners-up in the Division 2 Club Championship award, another great result that capped off a huge year for the club. Congratulations to on taking out the award.

Thanks again to Southern Football Netball League and Sandown Greyhounds for having us. Was a top night!

🚨SENIOR MEN'S ASSISTANT COACH WANTED 2027🚨

After a huge 2026 season, the Bloods are excited and ready to go again in 2027. This time we want to go one win further and get that cup. 🙌🏻

With three of our men’s teams finishing as Minor Premiers and making the Grand Finals, our women’s program continuing to grow and reach the Grand Final, and our Under 19s program launching next year, the club has a heap of momentum and excitement.

We’re looking for an experienced Men's Senior Assistant Coach who can work closely with our Senior Coach and wider coaching group, help develop our players, support our Under 19s coming through, and strengthen the pathway into senior football.

The role is flexible, and we’re open to all options, whether that’s a playing assistant coach or a non-playing assistant coach. More than anything, we’re looking for the right person who brings energy, experience and a real desire to help take the Bloods to the next level and continue our push towards Div 1.

If you love your footy and want to be part of an ambitious club that is hungry to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you.

For any enquiries, please get in touch through the contact form https://www.mordyfnc.com.au/contact or contact Head of Football Nath Evans on 0430 304 282.

Come and be part of the next chapter of the Bloods story. 🔴⚪

As we wind down 2026 and take a well-earned break, it’s worth reflecting on just how far our great club has come.🩸

There’s no hiding the disappointment of losing four football Grand Finals, including three in one weekend. It was absolutely brutal but what defines us isn’t the disappointment, it’s how we respond, what we learn and how we come back stronger.

And while we didn’t finish the way we hoped, nothing takes away from what we achieved this year.

For the first time in Mordialloc Football Netball Club history, our Senior Men, Reserves and Thirds all finished as Minor Premiers and reached their Grand Finals. Our Division 3 Women made a Grand Final in their first season as a team, while our Division 2 Women continued to grow and play finals. And of course, our Division D1 Netballers finished as Minor Premiers and went on to bring home the premiership! ✨🏆

Beyond the results, the growth of our club over the past two years has been pretty bloody incredible, and that’s something everyone involved should be proud of.

To our players, coaches, volunteers, committee, physios, trainers, sponsors, members and supporters, thank you! Your commitment, passion and countless hours behind the scenes are what make Mordy so special. None of this happens without you.

With our Under 19s program planned for 2027, we’re excited to continue building on the foundations laid by those before us and creating something special for the next generation.

We’ll learn, stick together and come back hungrier in 2027!

If you’d like to be part of the next chapter of the Mordy story, whether as a player, volunteer, supporter or sponsor, we’d love to hear from you. PM us or details in bio…

Vale Belinda McCallum. 🕊️💔
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Belinda last Thursday.

Belinda was a proud part of Mordialloc’s history, a premiership player in 2002 and a key contributor to our inaugural VWFL Division 2 women’s flag. She was a true legend of our game, playing with incredible heart, determination, and strength. Nothing ever got past her, and she gave so much to the team both on and off the field.

For those who had the privilege of knowing Belinda, we invite you to share your favourite memories, stories, and moments the happy and funny ones that truly capture who she was. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

RIP, Belinda. Forever part of the Bloods. ❤️🤍
