We’re heading to Perth Aqua Park in Baldivis for a day of fun in the sun. This place is an absolute BALL for both kids and adults.

Some of the biggest signs of progress in jiu-jitsu are the ones nobody notices.

You still get tapped. You still have rough rounds. You still leave practice thinking, “Man, I suck.”

But then you realise...

You see danger earlier. You stay calmer in bad positions. You waste less energy. You understand why something failed. And the rounds that used to feel impossible suddenly feel a little slower.

That’s progress.

BJJ improvement doesn’t always announce itself with a new belt, a submission, or a medal. Sometimes it shows up quietly in better decisions, better reactions, and a little more control than you had yesterday.

So if you’ve been feeling stuck lately, keep showing up.

You might be getting better faster than you realise. 🙂

An outstanding display of jiu jitsu from the GCJ team at today’s Corringa in house tournament!

Our kids, Amelia, Ollie and Kiera, did an amazing job, and we couldn’t be prouder of you all. Heron, our sole adult competitor, put in a solid performance with 3 matches and 3 wins!

Everyone followed instructions perfectly from the sidelines, showing great discipline and teamwork.

A fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and build confidence before stepping onto the mats for the SGT tournament.

Technical Get-Up!

One of those simple BJJ movements that becomes incredibly important as our kids progress.

The technical get up teaches them how to safely create space, protect themselves and return to their feet while maintaining a strong defensive position.

It’s a fundamental skill we want our kids to build early. Because in BJJ, knowing how to get back up is just as important as knowing how to get someone down!
