So inspiring!! So worthy!! 🤩
I went to this Masterclass 2 weeks ago “Infant Oral Function and Feeding” by Kate Roche - IBCLC and Dr Justin Roche - Surgical Paediatrician National Tongue Tie Centre
The main takeaway I got from listening is that you cannot treat the Tongue Tie in isolation to the rest of the body. A tongue tie is tight fascia and fascia is throughout the whole body, affecting movement, development and our coping strategies. So when a tongue tie is released, unless there are changes in the way our body functions, it can re-attach! 😩
Our babies would rather do something that is hard and familiar, compared to easy and unfamiliar and this means retraining the way they function as a whole. If there is no support to retrain the improper functioning in the body then old symptoms will still continue - bad latching, uncoordinated sucking, increase air intake, CMPI symptoms, colic symptoms, reflux symptoms and an unhappy baby😩
I met some amazing practitioners who are parts of this puzzle, who understand tight fascia and who work together to support your babies 🙌🙌
Private Midwife | Rockingham & Peel Region
Lunar Chiropractic - your Shelley Chiropractor
Dr Shereen Lim
The Gentle Village® | Tongue Tie & Infant Feeding Support
Sparkle Dental
Oceanside Chiropractic
Melville Osteopathy
Thank you to Kate and Justin Roche for visiting our lovely state ☀️

Learning to recognise your baby’s tired signs is one of the biggest game changers when it comes to sleep😴
If you’re relying only on awake windows, it’s easy to miss those early cues, and by the time your baby is crying, they’re often already overtired and dysregulated😩
Here is Tired Sign number 4 – The Yawn🥱
The yawn on its own is not a tired sign! 🤯Sometimes we yawn to increase our oxygen perfusion, like when we wake up from a sleep we will yawn 🥱
However, when the yawn is accompanied with another tired sign like a grizzly cry, or jerky movements or gazing off into the distance then it is a clear sign that your baby is tired and ready for bed💤💤
When you see these tired signs you start your bedtime routine 😴💤💤

Read between the lines…. NO PHONES or SCREENS whilst you are being with your babies and children and teenagers 🤗
Communication is so important and it’s all about the quality of time we spend with our loved ones, not quantity 😃

Here is Tired sign number 3 – Red eyebrows + Red eyes 👀
Another subtle tired sign. Red eyes like you’ve got a red eyeliner and applied it to your baby’s waterline. This is a later sign like yawning and rubbing of the eyes.
Time for bed! 😴💤💤
