📢 Important Notice for SHCV Members

We have been made aware that some members have not received emails from SHCA. As SHCV no longer has access to the SAMMS database — a decision made by SHCA, not SHCV, we are unable to assist with this directly. Members who have not received correspondence from SHCA will need to contact SHCA directly.

⚠️ Confirmation of Special General Meeting

The SHCV Special General Meeting is taking place on Monday 23 March 2026 at 6:00pm. The venue details were included in the Special Meeting notice already sent to members.

Zoom will be available for those who wish to observe the meeting remotely — the link was included in the Special Meeting notice.

We wish to correct an error in a previous communication which incorrectly suggested that voting could take place via Zoom. We sincerely apologise for any confusion this caused. Our committee are volunteers working under significant pressure and doing their very best

To be clear: Zoom attendance is for observation only. Voting cannot take place online. To have your vote counted you must either attend in person or submit a proxy form — either by handing it to the Chairperson before the meeting commences or by emailing it to [email protected] prior to the meeting.

Two important emails have been sent to all current financial members:

• Last night: A comprehensive FAQ covering the current situation, the Special General Meeting, proxy voting, nominations and much more.

• Today: An important update that we encourage all members to read carefully before Monday’s meeting.
Please check your inbox for both emails. If you have not received them, please check your junk/spam folder or contact us at [email protected].

A further email will follow shortly containing the valid committee nominations — please note these nominations are only relevant in the event that the current committee is voted out at Mondays meeting.

⚠️ A note on social media

We are aware that there has been a great deal of commentary, speculation and misinformation circulating on Facebook. We urge members to please rely only on official communications from SHCV — not on social media posts, comments or rumours. If you have a question, please email us at [email protected] and we will respond as promptly as we can.

We also want to address the personal and hurtful comments that have been directed at committee members on social media. Our committee are volunteers who give their time, expertise and energy because they genuinely care about this sport and every single one of its members. They did not sign up to be personally attacked. These comments are unacceptable, they are not in the spirit of our community, and SHCV will not tolerate them. Members are reminded that conduct of this nature is inconsistent with SHCV’s Rules and social media policy and may have consequences for membership.
