Pedal for Purpose November 1 to 7th 🚴‍♀️

Put it on your calendar; no classes that week, BUT it’s for a really good cause ❤️

This ride is about so much more than getting from Adelaide to Hastings. 💙

Pedal for Purpose is a charity ride supporting It’s Okay Not to Be Okay, raising funds for their Backpack for Life program 🎒 — a wonderful initiative that helps children in Grade 5 and 6 build the tools, confidence, and support they need to navigate life’s ups and downs.

Because sometimes, the little things we give children early in life can make a BIG difference later. ❤️

So we’re putting our legs, lungs and questionable cycling fashion choices to good use! 😂🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Every pedal, every dollar and every bit of support helps us spread an important message:

It’s okay not to be okay. And you don’t have to go through it alone. 💛

If you’d like to support Pedal for Purpose and help us make a difference, you can grab a raffle ticket:

Or donate here:
https://www.mycause.com.au/events/pedalforpurpose

Thank you for getting behind us, sharing the message and helping us give the next generation a little more support, hope and courage. 🎒💛

Let’s pedal with purpose! 🚴‍♀️💪

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you again for your support 🙏

Off training! See ya! 👋🏻

Sophie 😎

Pilates vs Yoga… they’re cousins, not twins. 😄

People: “Oh, you teach Pilates? I love yoga!”

Me: “That’s awesome… but they’re not the same!” 😂

Yoga: 🧘‍♀️ “Breathe. Be present. Find your inner peace.”

Pilates: 💪 “Breathe… now hold your core, keep your pelvis still, lengthen your spine, don’t let your ribs pop, and yes… you’re still only moving one leg.” 😅

Pilates is where:
✨ Your core becomes your best friend.
✨ Tiny movements make your whole body shake.
✨ Better posture sneaks into your everyday life.
✨ Strength and flexibility grow together.
✨ You leave standing taller, moving better, and feeling stronger.

Both are fantastic, but if you’ve ever thought Pilates was just “stretching”… come and experience the magic (and the shaking!) for yourself. 😉

Who’s been told, “Pilates is basically yoga, right?” 🙋‍♀️😂

A beautiful evening to celebrate women's achievements ❤️

I'm so proud of this amazing woman sitting in front of me, pushing through tough times and smashing her goals 🤩 It’s tough at times, but so worth it 💪🏻 Tu es belle ma loutre 🦦 Continue to make great efforts ❤️

During this time, Mama Bear will keep enhancing her knowledge by starting her Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method with National Pilates Training in the coming weeks 🤩 I can’t wait to learn more about high-risk rehab management and training elite athletes 💪🏻 Don’t worry, I won’t train you as if you’re all going to the Olympics 😜 But I definitely have more knowledge to tailor your training to your condition, ensuring you get the best out of your session 💪🏻

Merci OUEST FRANCE for the evening 🙏

You want to get stronger doing extras exercises at home?

These Pilates exercises help build core strength, improve balance and stability, enhance posture, improve power transfer, and develop the leg strength 💪🏻

1-2 minutes per exercise, repeat the sequence if you want to 😉

🌉 Bridge (1–2 min) – Press through your heels, engage your glutes, and lift one vertebra at a time.

🚴 Criss-Cross (1–2 min) – Keep your chest lifted, rotate from your ribs, and bring opposite shoulder toward knee.

🦢 Prone Back Extension (1–2 min) – Lengthen through the crown of your head, draw your shoulders away from your ears, and gently lift your chest.

🌿 Cat Stretch (1–2 min) – Move slowly through flexion and extension of the spine, matching the movement to your breath.

🦵 Single Leg Bridge (1–2 min each side) – Keep your pelvis level, press through the supporting heel, and maintain control throughout.

🔄 Roll Up (1–2 min) – Reach through your fingertips, articulate your spine one vertebra at a time, and use your core to control both the lift and the return.

🛴 Scooter (1–2 min each side) – Stand tall, engage your core, and push the leg back with control while keeping your pelvis stable.

⚖️ Single Leg Stand (1–2 min each side) – Find a tall posture, engage your core, and keep your hips level as you balance.

🪑 Wall Sit (1–2 min) – Slide down the wall until your knees are comfortable, keep your spine neutral, and press evenly through both feet.

Remember: Control over speed. Focus on alignment, breathe deeply, and move with intention.

⚠️ Most importantly, listen to your body. If an exercise doesn’t feel right, causes pain, or you cannot maintain good form, stop and choose a modification that works for you.

Questions? Don’t hesitate to ask 🙏

My boss, your moral support, is celebrating his 6th birthday today 🥳🎉🎈 Happy birthday, Patches!!!!

This Pilates studio wouldn’t be the same without him. He’s wonderful at offering empathy during class 😜 or giving you a break to pat him between sets 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I do get up early to waste him some energy and sometimes have to run in the rain or shine after his work hours (even though he spends most of it sleeping!), but he gives me back endless moral support, is the best running buddy, and a source of comfort after long days ❤️.

Happy Birthday, Big Boy! Thank you for all your love and support. Maybe I should change our business name to Pilates And Patches 😂.

See you all this week 💪🏻😎❤️

Happy Mother’s Day to all the maman in the world ❤️ We are all doing the hardest job in our lives, doing our best with what we've got ❤️

This toughest job is equally rewarded when those sprinkles of love come back from our duckling ❤️ Let's be honest, we all struggle at some point, sometimes in silence, scared of being judged by telling we are struggling. However, in the end, we all do our best, hoping to raise the best human being, giving our ducklings the best tools to face life independently 🐥🐓

From the previous shot, it looks like I have been drinking beer for 4 days 😂 Well, I did!…. But in moderation 😂 Meanwhile, I enjoyed all the goodies from this generous island ❤️ From amazing Tasmanian Surf & Turf 🥩🍤, pastries, 🥐 (obviously a non GF weekend 😬), coffeeS ☕️☕️☕️☕️, and all the beautiful people living here ❤️

On my side, I had half of my brood who crossed the Tasman Sea for the first time to discover what I call “my Quebec Down Under”. I had the chance to spend time with my little human, showing her how life can be good between hard times ❤️ For the other half of my brood, I’m hoping I will have the chance to show him the same when the time comes ❤️

In between, I walked over 60,000 steps, ran 15km, swam for over 2 hours, and spent over 5 hours in a sauna (it’s cold in Tassie 😂). So no, your trainer wasn’t lazy during her time away 😎 A balance between being active…and indulging 😋

(Use Google Translate if you want to, my maman doesn’t speak English 😉, soooo French where I come from in Chicoutimi 🇨🇦)

Cheers Mamans ❤️
Back to the studio on Monday 💪🏻😎

Wine & Pilates 4th edition for Pedal For Purpose was a success 🤩

We have been able to raise over $3000 to It’s OKAY Not to be OKAY, especially for their program Backpack for Life 🎒❤️

The mission of Pedal For Purpose is to help It’s OKAY, not to be OKAY, to deliver their Backpack for Life primary schools program to 5,000+ grade 5 & grade 6 students. The program provides kids with a mental health toolkit that will help them in times of need. By early support and intervention, they hope to reduce the number of young people lost to su***de.

If you would like to learn more about Pedal for purposes, donate, or ride with us, please check out the link.

Thank you again to everyone who joined in on the mat with a glass of wine 🍷😎…trying to balance keeping the wine IN the glass 😜 We all succeed 😁

I should be more consistent with my social media presence, posting training videos, news about new ways of exercising, and new studies.
Guilty, I’m not really efficient on that side.

This video is just a snippet of what happens when I try to do a video for someone 😂 My boss wants to make sure he is involved 🤦🏻‍♀️ Always!!!

See you this week on reformer…At least my boss can’t jump on you 😜

Big changes are on the horizon for Clinical Pilates in Australia 🇦🇺

We’re excited about what the near future may bring — with growing recognition of Clinical Pilates as a valuable, evidence-based approach to rehabilitation, strength, and long-term health.

There is increasing momentum toward making Clinical Pilates more accessible through private health funds. This could mean greater support for those investing in their physical wellbeing, injury recovery, and prevention.

From the AUSactive website, we are excited to share the good news:

“AUSactive is currently working closely with Private Healthcare Australia (PHA) to lead reform in private health insurance, with the goal of expanding access to evidence-based preventive health services, including Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, and structured exercise programs delivered by accredited professionals. Private health insurers are working with industry associations to create accreditation, claims and other required processes to support the change. With the assistance of professional associations, the processes are expected to be in place in early 2026. In response, AUSactive has proposed a national model for delivery that prioritises accreditation, safety, and clinical effectiveness. This includes the development of new item numbers for eligible services and a robust framework to guide implementation by both practitioners and insurers.”

For Pilates And PT, we will have a bit of work to do before you can start claiming your sessions. However, we can reassure you that we will do our best to ensure you can claim your Clinical Pilates, group, or individual session in the near future.

Stay tuned — we’ll keep you informed as things evolve.
