Last Friday we lost our dear friend, member and great bowler Ron Burton . Ron is remembered for his dry sense of humor, gentle nature and love of bowls . He won singles, pairs & fours club championships at Carrington Park before transferring to Rosebud Country Club where he won pairs and triples championships. Ron was a very valued member of our Civic bowls club where he came to in 2016. He loved his Thursday social bowls winning many a meat tray . Ron also participated in our Pennant teams and there was no doubt of his loyalty to his teammates. Sit with Ron after a couple of beers during Pennant Season and he would gently let you know he was the ‘best lead’ on the Peninsula all delivered with his usual wit. Civic Bowls club extends our deepest condolences to Ron’s wife Val, family and friends at this very sad time . Rest peacefully Ron you will be warmly remembered and alway missed .

We did it again! Thursdays at Civic just continue to bring in the bowlers. 52 teams = 156 people. Our day was sponsored by Steeples Mornington many thanks for their ongoing support which means alot to our club and it’s future success.
