𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to Southern Cross Sauna Company for their generous donation of 50 drink bottles for our athletes at 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯.

Staying hydrated on game day is essential and these bottles will be used by our players during training and match days throughout the season.

🏉 𝗔𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯

While we worked incredibly hard to build teams for the 2026 season, unfortunately we didn’t quite reach the player numbers needed to field teams for the HJRU 2026 Rugby 15s winter competition.

For those in the community who may not be across how rugby competitions work, winter 15s is just one of many formats of the game. So while we won’t be stomping the local fields this winter, we’ll still be very much active and focusing on development and community.

Building a new club from the ground up takes time and what we’ve created already is something we’re incredibly proud of. The vision for Morpeth Rugby has always been long-term — a club where families can watch their kids and even their grandkids play one day.

Over the coming months we’ll be running skill academies and training sessions with our outstanding coaches Seru and Seva, who are committed to helping grow the club and developing young players.

We’ll also be entering and supporting other formats including rugby 7s, 10s and Tag, so there will still be plenty of opportunities to play, learn and stay connected to rugby.

This is exactly what junior rugby union in rural communities should be about — clubs supporting each other and keeping kids in the game.
