A former Australian Diamonds Captain, two-time World Champion and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Michelle brings an exceptional depth of experience as both a player and coach.

What can coaches expect?

Coaches will first have the opportunity to observe a specialist player defence session led by Michelle, with support and guidance from Roz Fraser of Fraser Focus.

This will be followed by an exclusive coach discussion facilitated by Roz, where Michelle will share her insights into:

• Defensive techniques and strategies
• Developing effective defenders
• Coaching specialist defence
• Applying defensive skills in the game
• Questions and discussion with Michelle

Open to all coaches from Netball SA affiliated associations, this is a unique opportunity to learn from one of Australian netball’s most respected defenders and coaches.

🚨 A reminder to all parents and supporters attending tonight:

Finals can bring plenty of excitement and emotion, but please remember that this is junior netball and the players are children.

We expect everyone to behave appropriately and create a positive environment for all players, umpires, coaches and volunteers.

📣 Cheer for your team – but never at the expense of others.

❌ No yelling at, questioning or abusing umpires.

❌ No negative comments directed towards players, coaches or spectators.

👏 Encourage all players and remember that your behaviour sets the example for the children watching and playing.

🏐 And, as always, a special thank you to our umpires. Please remember that without umpires, there is no game.

Are you ready to take your netball to the next level? 🌟

Registrations are now open for the SUNA Reps 2027 Program for 11U, 13U, 15U and 17U players.

📅 Trial 1: Sunday 15 November 2026
⏰ 9:00am – 12:00pm

📅 Trial 2: Sunday 22 November 2026
⏰ 9:15am – 12:00pm
👕 Uniform Fitting: 8:30am – 9:15am on Sunday 22 November

💰 Trial Registration: $25 non-refundable + PlayHQ fees

🗓️ Registrations close: Sunday 8 November 2026

Players will be advised if they have progressed to Trial 2 by 18 November 2026, with final selections communicated by 25 November 2026.

Successful players selected in a SUNA Reps team will be required to accept their place by Sunday 6th December.

Eligibility (11&U, 13&U, 15&U and 17&U)

Players must:
• Be registered, financial members of a SUNA Club
• Be playing at SUNA in Division 1 or 2 (or equivalent), or
• Request an exception via their Club if playing outside their normal age group or in the Seniors competition.

Looking to grow your coaching knowledge and confidence?

Whether you're new to coaching or an experienced coach, SUNA's 2026 coaching workshops in partnership with Roz Fraser from Fraser Focus offer practical learning opportunities to help you develop your skills.

Registrations are open to coaches from ALL Netball SA affiliated associations, everyone is welcome!

This workshop is ideal for new coaches and those with up to two years of coaching experience. It provides a strong foundation in coaching principles and practical skills to help build confidence and effectiveness.

These workshops provide a great opportunity to learn from experienced presenters, share ideas with coaches from across the netball community, and continue your coaching development.

🚨🏐 FINALS ARE HERE — RESPECT OUR UMPIRES 🏐🚨

As we head into the SUNA Winter 2026 Finals, we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone, players, coaches, spectators, parents and club officials that respect for our umpires is non-negotiable.

Finals bring extra excitement, pressure and emotion, but that is never an excuse for disrespectful, abusive or intimidating behaviour towards an umpire.

Please remember:

🏐 Umpires are human.
🏐 They make decisions in real time.
🏐 You may not always agree with a decision, and that’s okay.
🏐 Many of our umpires are young and still developing their skills and confidence.
🏐 Every umpire has the right to feel safe and respected while doing their job.

If you see or hear inappropriate behaviour towards an umpire, please don’t simply stand by and ignore it. If it is safe to do so, challenge the behaviour appropriately, or speak with a SUNA official or club representative so it can be addressed.

We all have a responsibility to create an environment where our umpires feel supported, particularly during finals when emotions can run high.

Respect the game.
Respect each other.
RESPECT OUR UMPIRES.
