Ip Man (1893–1972), also known as Yip Man, was a legendary Chinese martial artist and the most famous master of Wing Chun Kung Fu. He was born in Foshan, Guangdong, China.

Ip Man began learning Wing Chun at a young age under the master Chan Wah-shun. Over time, he became one of the most skilled practitioners of the style. After moving to Hong Kong in 1949, he started teaching Wing Chun publicly, helping the art spread internationally.

Among his many students, the most famous was Bruce Lee, who later became a global martial arts icon.

Ip Man is remembered as the teacher who brought Wing Chun to the world and influenced modern martial arts culture. His life inspired several films, including the popular Ip Man movie series starring Donnie Yen

Hi everyone, my name is Ken Weston. I own and run Southern Wing Chun Club at Morphett Vale East Primary School. Southern Wing Chun is a practical and effective traditional kung fu. We teach from Chu Shong Tins lineage. I have been training with Albert Chong for many years and I am still regularly training with him. We teach external techniques and internal energy. I focus on complete relaxation of all the joints. Correct stance and structure of spine and body. Relaxation is a very powerful tool . Through this process helps you feel the natural energy to flow into punches, kicks and techniques and of course the forms. Combining Structure, relaxation and mind focus. Which also helps in every day living. We focus on Simplicity, Directness, practicality,Economy of movement and minimum use of brute strength.
