2027 SIGNING | Former Dragon Returning to the Den

Nick Shipley, 2026 Sydney Swans VFL Captain, is returning to the club where he played his first senior game. Before being drafted by GWS, Nick was a St George AFC Dragon in 2016 and 2017.

Nick became the first graduate of the GIANTS Academy in Western Sydney to join the club when he was selected with pick 64 in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.

Playing games at the highest AFL level for GWS between 2018-2021, Nick moved to the Swans in 2022 and was rewarded with the captaincy of the VFL team in 2025.

St George are excited for his return and looking forward to Nick sharing his experience and providing leadership for our young side.

This is what footy is all about ❤️🤍🥹

After supporting women’s div 2, Kate got the call up to be the Women’s Prems Manager, a role she has proudly held for the past few years!

Although she is hanging up the clipboard after this season, we look forward to still seeing Kate around at Olds Park! ❤️🤍 Thank you Kate!
