Part 3 of Jenny and Clive’s story!

What keeps you coming back three times a week in your 80s? đź’Ş

For Jenny and Clive, it’s the people.

Meet Jenny and Clive Goodwin! đź‘‹

Jenny was one of my very first PT clients when I started out 15 years ago 🥹

What I’ve always loved about training Jenny and Clive is their positive attitude towards their health, and the friendship we’ve built over the years. Together we’ve navigated injuries, health setbacks and all the different stages of life, and through all of it, one thing has never changed: they show up 3 x per week, every week 💪🏽

So what does strength training look like in your 80s?
It looks a little different, but the goal is the same: staying strong, capable and independent.

For Jenny and Clive, that means:
🏋️‍♀️ Strength for everyday life: getting up from a chair, carrying the shopping, managing stairs with confidence
⚖️ Balance work: to stay steady on their feet and reduce the risk of falls
🦴 Resistance training: to help maintain muscle and bone strength as we age
🔄 Smart modifications: working around injuries and adjusting on the day based on how their bodies feel

Progress at this stage isn’t about lifting heavier every week. It’s about keeping the strength you have, staying active, and continuing to do the things you love.

Jenny and Clive are proof it’s never too late to start, and it’s never too late to keep going , stay tuned for part 2!

Part 3 of Halaina’s Story

Before her first group class, Halaina was so nervous she was sure she’d be the one falling behind.

It’s one of the most common things we hear: the fear of walking into a room where everyone else seems to know what they’re doing, and worrying you’ll be the one who can’t keep up.

What Halaina found instead was a room full of people doing their own thing, focused on their own goals and supporting each other. Those women and men inspired her to keep showing up, until she found a weekly mix that works for her.

That’s a wrap on Halaina’s story. Thank you, Halaina, for letting us share your why, your journey and your wins. We’re so proud of you 🤍

Your first session is the hardest one, and we’ll be right there to support you every step of the way.

The best trainers get to know the whole you. 🤍

The busy weeks, the sleepless nights, the days you turn up with everything going on and still give it your best.

Great programming matters. Being challenged matters. But the best trainers also take the time to understand your life, whatever season you’re in.

Parent. Carer. Business owner. Full-time worker. Or juggling all of the hats at once! 🙋‍♀️

So if you’re choosing a PT, don’t just ask about their qualifications. Ask yourself:

âś…Do they know what my week looks like?
âś…Do they adapt, or just repeat the plan?
âś…Will they help me stay on track with my goals, even on the busy weeks?
✅The right coach doesn’t just train you. They become part of your support network.

Part 2 of Halaina’s story 🤍

Meet Halaina Winter, mum to a 19-month-old in her 40s.

Halaina has been training at Sportif for just over 12 months. She was new to strength training when she walked through our doors, but as a former professional ballerina she brought incredible body awareness with her.

One of the things I’ve loved most about training Halaina is how open she’s been to the process and to building the right foundations first. That patience paid off last week when she hit a new deadlift PB of 80kg 🙌🏽
As mums, we so often put our kids, our families and our work ahead of ourselves. In this 3-part series, Halaina shares what changed that for her, starting with her WHY.
Follow along for Part 2, and if you’re ready to start your own journey, DM me about a Complimentary Movement Screening.

The final part of Sharice’s story, and my favourite one.

Every client who walks through our door has their own reason for being here.

For some it’s getting back into training after having a baby, for others it’s a marathon, or simply wanting to feel strong in everyday life.

In her words:
“It’s very tailored, very bespoke. She really listens and cares and wants you to achieve that goal you’ve set.”
Sharice, thank you for sharing your story, for trusting me from the very beginning, and for the friendship that’s grown along the way. I’m so grateful for you.

Part two of Sharice’s story, and this one’s about the thing she says matters most: our community.

“We love our workouts, but we love our coffee after the workout even more. We’re there to have chats about what’s happening in life, have a laugh, maybe have a cry, and be really supportive.”

That’s exactly what I envisioned when I started Sportif. Not just a place to work out, but a place where people genuinely feel connected and help each other reach their goals.

Hearing Sharice say community is 100% what this place gives her means so much to me.

Follow along for part three.

Meet Sharice Bellantonio, Sportif’s OG. Mum of three and business owner.

Sharice has been training with me for 12 years. She was there when I used to drive to her house for our sessions, then when we moved training to Rawson Oval, long before we had a studio and before I really knew where any of this was going.

We clicked from our very first session. Some clients become part of your life, and Sharice is one of those people. Over the years we’ve celebrated each other’s wins, talked through the hard weeks, and somehow always found time to train hard.

Sportif wouldn’t be what it is without people like Sharice. Thank you for backing me from the very beginning.

Over the next three reels, Sharice shares her story of training at Sportif.

This is part one.
