🥋 3 ATHLETES. 3 GOLD MEDALS! 🥇🥇🥇

What a fantastic day of judo in Townsville on Saturday, 12 September!

A huge thank you to Townsville Judo Club for hosting a wonderful competition and putting on such a great day for everyone involved.

Coral Coast Judo Club took three athletes down to compete, and all three came home with GOLD! 💪🔥

🥇 Rikki – Gold, Cadets U60kg
🥈 Rikki – Silver, Young Men’s Heavyweight

🥇 Max – Gold, Senior Men U90kg

🥇 Jayden – Gold, Senior Men U100kg

An outstanding effort from all three athletes and a great result for our small club. We’re extremely proud of the way they represented Coral Coast both on and off the mat.

There’s no slowing down for Rikki, who is back on the mat next weekend competing at the Queensland International Open and National Schools Competition. Best of luck, Rikki! 🥋💪

🥋 2026 AKJA National Judo Championships – Cairns! 🥋

The 2026 Australian Kodokan Judo Association National Judo Championships are coming to Cairns!

The competition is running from Friday 25 September to Sunday 27 September 2026 at Trinity Ford Stadium, Manunda.

Friday will feature:
🥋 The National Kata Tournament,
🥋 Junior and Cadet weigh-in from 5:00–5:45pm

Saturday:
🥋 The Shiai competition gets underway across Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to compete at a National Championship right here in North Queensland, with the event jointly hosted by the Queensland Kodokan Judo Association and AKJA.

🚨‼️Registrations close at 12:00pm TODAY, Friday 11 September, so if you haven’t registered yet, make sure you get it done before the deadline! 🇦🇺🥋🏆
