PIONEERS TO FIBA WORLD CHAMPS 🇦🇺💚🖤

Congratulations to Miela Sowah (nee Goodchild) and Zitina Aokuso, who will pull on the green and gold as members of the Australian Opals at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin.

From their time wearing the green and black in Mount Gambier to representing their country at the highest level, it is a moment we are incredibly proud to celebrate as a Pioneers community.

For Miela, Berlin marks her FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup debut, adding another incredible chapter to an already outstanding career.

For Zitina, another major international tournament continues a remarkable journey that has seen her become an established member of the Opals program.

We are incredibly proud to have played a small part in the journeys of two outstanding players who once called Mount Gambier home.

From Wulanda to Berlin — we'll be cheering you on every step of the way.

The Mount Gambier Pioneers are pleased to confirm the appointment of Tom Daly as the Head Coach of the Castec Rural Pioneers.

A former championship player, captain, and Life Member of our club. We Congratulate Tom and are excited to support him as he leads the men's program into the 2027 NBL1 South season.

Whether you welcomed fans through the gates, worked tirelessly behind the scenes, cheered from the stands, travelled on the road or simply wore the green and black with pride, you helped create an atmosphere that made Wulanda feel like home.

The Pioneers are much more than any individual. We are a club built on community, passion and people who genuinely care about seeing basketball thrive in Mount Gambier.

Taking on the responsibility of leading our men's program is no small task, and Pete approached the role with professionalism, integrity and a genuine commitment to our club, players and community.
