Mount Isa Mines Rodeo - A Community Success Story.

In late 2024, a group of passionate locals came together to form the new Mount Isa Pro Rodeo Board, determined to keep our iconic rodeo alive and in community hands.

The success story that followed belongs to the whole community. Backed by locals, Mount Isa City Council, our valued sponsors and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland, the Isa Rodeo continues to thrive.

This is your rodeo. Your community. Your legacy. A comeback story for the history books.

Rolling in over the hills to Mount Isa, seeing those lights, is something that gets the heart rate going of the competitors that have travelled Australia wide.

A win at Isa can make or break a season for these competitors and the reason we get the best athletes coming to town!

Tim Hammond talks on that feeling with plenty more in the long version. Out next week!

Proud of our sponsored Athlete Lareece Daley-Kennedy Team Australia Mini Bulls and happy to welcome her home with some new bling! Future is bright for this cowgirl. Congrats from Isa Rodeo.

🤠 Mount Isa teenager Lareece Daley-Kennedy has finished second in the 13-and-under bull ride at Cook’s Rodeo Days in Lubbock, Texas.

The 13-year-old Kalkadoon and Pitta Pitta cowgirl was leading heading into the top-five short round, before securing the second-place buckle after a ride and re-ride.

Lareece is in the United States competing on the international youth rodeo circuit in Oklahoma and the World Championship Mini Bulls World Finals in Texas.

Her trip was backed by fundraising across North West Queensland, including a $10,000 contribution from the Mount Isa Rodeo Association.

Lareece is one of a team of young Australian competitors travelling through Oklahoma and Texas on Australia's Youth Rodeo Organisation’s 2026 international tour.
