A big thank you to Damien and the team at Lewie Fire Protection for getting behind the Second Division Ba****ck at the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo.

These are the next superstars of rodeo — young athletes working hard to make their mark, and Lewie Fire Protection’s support helps ensure they get the opportunity to compete on the best stock, chase worthwhile prize money and take home the hardware to boot.

Held over two rounds, the Second Division Ba****ck produced some outstanding rides, with the buckle going home with Cody Quilliam.

Aptly named Sam Ferrari is a barrel racer and sporting horse champion who lives life against the clock — and wins. From Gisborne in Victoria, Sam and her big palomino, Guys Lethal Fame, have made the epic 4,700-kilometre round trip to compete against the best at the legendary Mount Isa Mines Rodeo. With a GoPro strapped on for her Mount Isa run, the resulting rider’s-eye vision is nothing short of spectacular — fast, fierce and an extraordinary look at barrel racing from the best seat in the house.

How has it already been ONE MONTH since Rodeo Weekend?! 🤠 We're throwing it back to the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo making an appearance on the TODAY Show during Rodeo Weekend. Seeing our little piece of the Outback shared across the country makes us incredibly proud. THE UNSUNG HEROES OF RODEO - Mount Isa Signs

There are plenty of people who work behind the scenes to make the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo happen, and one of our biggest unsung heroes is Mount Isa Signs.

Owner Paul blocks out more than two weeks every year to be onsite installing ALL of our rodeo signage — and believe us, that is a HUGE job! Although he has a great supervisor Lachlan ensuring he does it all correctly!

Then there are the last-minute signage requests. Something we’ve missed? Something needs changing? A sign we suddenly need tomorrow? The team at Mount Isa Signs are always there, responding quickly, professionally and without fuss.

The Mount Isa Signs team donate a significant amount of time and resources to our rodeo, but more importantly, they genuinely care about this community and seeing the rodeo succeed - thank you. So much of what you do happens behind the scenes, but it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed!

From our rodeo office right through to setting up communications across Buchanan Park, the Bluetel team play a huge role behind the scenes in making sure we have the connectivity we need to keep the event running.

From the arena to the bars, our team relies on solid communications across the entire venue — and Bluetel are there making it happen.
