8/8/2026 - Finale of Thunder in the Canefields 2026 🔥

A strong end to an awesome event, 15th place finish in the feature and an impressive show of race craft throughout the night.

Time trials -
🔵 P21/21
We had the car setup dialled in, looking fast but timed 4 tenths slow. Due to track conditions the bigger motors walked all over the NQ66’s fastest times.

Heat 1 -
🔴 P9 ➡️ P7
A hard fought heat with some great battles, this was a lot of fun.

Heat 2 -
🔵 P10 ➡️ P7
Another great example of Blake’s ability, running the top consistently and driving around big horsepower cars.

A-main -
🔴 P18 ➡️ P15
An excellent 30 laps and a yet another showing of what our team is capable of, lots of great wheel to wheel battles with fast cars.

This was an epic way to round off our time in Far North Queensland, Cairns and Mareeba are incredible and we will definitely be back!

Concluding the 5 round series, Blake was 17th out of 25 cars in points. Not bad for a rookie!

7/8/2026 - Night 4, Thunder in the Canefields 💥

What started out bad turned better but ended up worse, missing the setup in qualifying and heat 1. The track came to us for heat 2 and the rest of the night, until a driver error halfway through the A.

Time trials -
🔵 P24/24
The track was saturated and our car just wasn’t ready for that, Blake hit his marks and ran two smooth laps but they just weren’t fast.

Heat 1 -
🔴 P12 ➡️ P10
The track was still wetter than we thought, we did little to the setup thinning it would be prime for this heat, It wasn’t.

Heat 2 -
🔵 P11 ➡️ P7
Finally the track came to us, Blake was running the ruts and cushions great before a restart where he thought the right rear tyre was going flat. Not wanted to wreck a rim or cause unnecessary damage he limped it across the finish line.

B-main -
🔴 P6 ➡️ P2
After finding absolutely nothing wrong with the right side of the car, we were out of the B. Top 4 transfer to the A, we were following the leader all the way to the chequered flag.

A-main -
🔵 P18 ➡️ DNF
A great jump on the start and some excellent driving through traffic lead the NQ66 to around the 12th spot, 15 laps in Blake jumped the curb on the back straight and slammed into the wall.

Definitely not how we wanted to end our 2nd last night in Cairns but we have shown the momentum and speed we have already, only 5 races into this new class.

Our final race is today, we will tweak a few things to hopefully have some more speed in qualifying to set the rest of our night up better.

4/8/2026 - Night 3, Thunder in the Tablelands 🚀

Blake’s first night in the pack at a new track, Mareeba Speedway. This place is massive, around 500m and no matter how much Blake tried the little LS1 couldn’t keep up.

Time trials -
🔵 P15/17
New track means a different setup, we tried a few things but couldn’t quite get the car to stick coming off each corner.

Heat 1 -
🔴 P9 ➡️ P7
When the field was bottled up on the start Blake capitalised and made up a bunch of spots, trying his very best to run consistent and defensive laps.

Heat 2 -
🔵 P8 ➡️ P7
A few less spots off the start and was just trying to keep up, running super fast through the corners but being drag raced down the long straights.

A-main -
🔴 P16 ➡️ P11
The main goal for these 25 laps was to experiment and gain more feel for the car, we also made up a bunch of spots just falling short of yet another top 10 finish.

This track was super unforgiving for our little motor and just couldn’t keep up with these massive horsepower cars.

Onto night 4 of Thunder in the Canefeilds this Friday, with more laps and knowledge of the car we are hoping for a strong result!

Let’s get after it this tuesday in the tablelands! ⚡️

LAST MINUTE!!! Just added to the line up this week!
Thanks to the team at Power Forward Media we can bring you all the action from Thunder in the Tablelands at Mareeba Speedway this TUESDAY NIGHT!

We appreciate everyone's efforts to bring some of the best 360-LS Sprintcar drivers in the country to Mareeba and a very cool midweek event that we can showcase on Clay-Per-View! Let's get after it!

1/8/2026 - Night 2, Thunder in the Canefeilds 💧

What a night, Blake’s first sprintcar win and a strong performance in the cut short A-main. This was his third and final night from the rear of field, qualifying really counts from now on.

Time trials -
🔵 P19/24
We made a couple setup changes before hot laps/ time trials that really didn’t play well with the heavily wet track, these have been noted in the setup book!

Heat 1 -
🔴 P12 ➡️ P8
Four, real passes from the rear.

Heat 2 -
🔵 P12 ➡️ P11
The track was very one lane in this heat, quite hard to pass and keep up with the faster motor’s.

B-main -
🔴 P2 ➡️ 🥇
Due to a bad qualifying, Blake was back in the B-main. Quickly moving to the lead and executing good laps which led to his first ever sprintcar victory.

A-main -
🔵 P17 ➡️ 💧
After four laps the race was declared due to heavy rain fall, within these four laps Blake moved up many positions and was keeping up with some of the fastest cars in the country.

Although tonight was cut short we are still incredibly happy with the result, Blake continues to quicken, become more consistent and comfortable in the sprintcar.

Our next race meet will be this Tuesday at Mareeba Speedway for Thunder in the Tablelands.

31/7/2026 - Night 1, Thunder in the Canefeilds 🌴

After a 20hr drive and practice last night, tonight was Blake’s second race in the Ls/360 class. This means that he was still from the rear of the heats.

Time trials -
🔵 P16/24
Blake made a pretty hefty mistake on the exit of 2 both laps, still qualifying within the 16 car invert. This means that he would’ve started on the front row of heat 1.

Heat 1 -
🔴 P12 ➡️ P8
Two of these positions were proper passes around the top and two were due to crashes.

Heat 2 -
🔵 P12 ➡️ P10

B-main -
🔴 P4 ➡️ P3
He was pretty low on points due to starting rear and not qualifying the best, the top 4 from the 8 car B transfer to the A-main (Main event).

A-main -
🔵 P19 ➡️ P10
It was a brutal 30 laps on a very difficult track, most of these positions were true passes and a handful were due to crashes.

Overall we are super happy with the result tonight, given that our driver is brand new, we started rear in the heats and we are 150hp down due to being the only competitor with this small of a motor.

Onto night two, let’s bring this speed into it!

Sprintcars are BACK, race fans! 💥🏁

The 2026/27 season fires into life this weekend as the 360-LS Sprintcars Thunder in Canefield Series kicks off with two huge nights at Cairns Speedway.

It's the start of a massive North Queensland swing, with five race nights across nine days as the stars of 360-LS Sprintcars take on Cairns and Mareeba Speedways.

The Contenders?

🏁 Local favourite Gwesyn Dalliston arrives with two North Queensland podiums from June.
🏁 Dan Moes is chasing back-to-back Cairns wins after taking out the last feature at the venue.
🏁 Darren Mollenoyux is back aboard the NQ51 and has already shown plenty of speed.
🏁 Ash Ewing, Mick Andrews and John Magro have all been strong performers on the North Queensland circuit.
🏁 But can Jacob Jolley carry his dominant South East Queensland form all the way to the Far North to beat the locals on their home clay?
🏁 And keep an eye on Karl Hoffmans, he'd love to tick another track off his ever-growing list of victories.
