Well done to our U23 Ladies. It wasn’t the result we wanted today, going down 2–0 to Edge Hill United, but nothing takes away from what has been an awesome 2026 season.
To make a Grand Final is an achievement to be incredibly proud of. The effort, commitment and fight shown by this group throughout the year has been outstanding.

❤️ THIS IS WHAT FOOTBALL IS ALL ABOUT ⚽
Some moments are bigger than the result on the scoreboard.
12 years ago, two little twins stood on the sideline at a Grand Final, proudly holding their homemade signs and cheering on their Aunty. ❤️🤍
Fast-forward 12 years and those same girls are now pulling on the Innisfail United jersey themselves, playing alongside their Aunty and cousins and creating their own Grand Final memories.
And the family connections don't stop there. ❤️
Coach Gino will be on the sideline coaching with his daughter Mia out on the field, while Bianca Borg and her daughter Ella Borg also get the special opportunity to take the field together.
Father coaching daughter. Mother playing alongside daughter. Aunties, nieces and cousins all sharing the same football journey.
This is what regional football in Innisfail is really about — family, generations, community and a love of the game that gets passed down.
From little girls cheering from the sideline 12 years ago… to families now sharing the field together in a Grand Final. ❤️🤍⚽
Tomorrow, another chapter gets written.

Our U23 Ladies enjoyed a fantastic night together, having a bit of fun and sharing a meal before their BIG GRAND FINAL this Saturday! 🏆

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped organise and put on a feed for the ladies tonight. It’s moments like these that show what being part of the Innisfail United family is all about.

Now it’s time to get ready for Saturday! 💪🔥
