🌾 MBRC at 2026 Goondiwindi Rifle Club OPM: Weekend Wrap‑Up

What a brilliant weekend of shooting at the Goondiwindi Rifle Club OPM, a two‑day comp that brought together great people, great shooting and some very challenging conditions.

🏆 Day 1: Our little bush club had an absolutely outstanding start, taking out all three Target Rifle grades in the Day 1 Aggregate:
• Ben Picton — TR A Grade Winner
• Dom Whalan — TR B Grade Winner
• Renee Hocking — TR C Grade Winner

🌬️ Day 2: The wind made sure nobody had an easy time. Conditions were tricky, unforgiving and tested even the very best on the mound, but our shooters dug in and delivered.

🏅 Grand Two‑Day Aggregate Results:
The final results across the full weekend were something special:

• Ben Picton - TR A Grade 🥇Winner (for the fourth time)
• Vic Fasen - TR B Grade 🥇Winner
• Dom Whalan - 5th place, TR B Grade
• Renee Hocking - 2nd Place, TR C Grade
• Jamie Fasen - 3rd Place, F‑Standard B Grade, earning her first ever badge — we are so incredibly proud of her achievement.

🙏 Thank You to the Goondiwindi Rifle Club for hosting another fantastic OPM. We always enjoy shooting with you and look forward to next year.

🌤️ MBRC Club Shoot — 500yards 30/8

Proudly sponsored by The Jolly Swagman Hotel Motel

We were treated to a beautiful late‑winter morning on the range today — clear skies, warm sunshine and that little hint in the air that Spring is almost here.

Today’s shoot was proudly sponsored by The Jolly Swagman, and the day was won by Renee Hocking, who put down a personal best score of 50.8 in Stage 1. Renee was very keen to run her new Raiders Green stock paired with a fresh Swan barrel, and it certainly paid off. Congratulations Renee on a fantastic result.

A big highlight was welcoming four new shooters from Moree, who made the trip out to give the Sporter PC discipline a try. It was great having the fellas on the mound with us, and we look forward to seeing them back again soon.

📊 Results:
T‑Rifle A
• Jack Picton – 50.7 + 50.6 (+1) = 101.13
• Ben Picton – 50.9 + 49.8 (+0) = 99.17
T‑Rifle B
• Dom Whalan – 49.4 + 48.6 (+0) = 97.10
• Vic Fasen – 48.2 + 46.3 (+5) = 99.5
T‑Rifle C
• 🥇Renee H – 50.8 + 48.6 (+6) = 104.14
F‑Std B
• Jamie Fasen – 58.3 + 57.3 (+6) = 121.6
• Paul Eyles – 51.1
Sport‑PC A
• Ethan O’nell – 47.004 + 47.002 = 94.006
• Jayke Salis – 44.001 + 49.003 = 93.004
• Adam Salis – 41.001 + 47.005 = 88.006
• Sam O’nell – 38.001 + 46.004 = 84.005

There will be no club shoot next weekend, as several members will be heading over to compete at the Goondiwindi OPM. Our next MBRC club shoot will be held on Sunday, 13 September — we hope to see you there.
