CORE AFTER BIRTH

The truth is after pregnancy our core muscles are weaker.

As a friend and member in my 12 Week Accountability Challenge reminded me today, you grew a human! Be kind to yourself. We are simply not the same after and things just aren't the same.

But we also have the power to rehabilitate our core - to build up our strength again and be more confident with our tummy tone and functionality.

How we do this? With targeted exercises.

Noticing abdominal separation or coning through your belly? That can be improved.

No questions are silly questions, and no bodies are a bad body. We're just different now, and that takes a different approach.

R U OK?

There are some questions that we always know the answers to, so much so that we don’t ask them..

But some questions we need to ask, like β€œHow are you really going?”

I don't care much for the views of "But that won't do anything to stop su***de." Or "This is just a marketing ploy." Or "Help people properly - don't just run a hopeless campaign!"

Release yourself from putting energy into a perspective that doesn't serve you and that is out of your control! 🀯 Boy, do I believe (and this is just my thoughts) that type of energy is WAY OFF TRACK.

*How can YOU help? What can YOU do?*

I know how I work - I've spent years getting to know myself more deeply. And this piece of reflection comes from this...

Something as simple as asking "Are you okay? What are you needing?"..

If they are struggling they will know you care. They might not fully disclose their deepest feelings or concerns at that moment, but the act of being considerate and caring (especially over time, with no hidden contracts or expectations) continues to show that person you are present and you care.

How does this actually help?

Because you give them an extra choice to decide what that means to them, and what they want to do with that experience (talk more, let it be, reflect..).

When they're ready to let their guard down and find some help, maybe you helped them get to that point.

Forget about anyone else's view - you're not on this earth for anyone else but you and the people you care about. So whatever caring looks like to you, I invite you to explore it.

Ask someone today. That conversation could change their life.
