We’re excited to bring Lucie Spurling into the Meridian Bikebug team in October and through 2027.

Lucie burst on to the cycling scene in South Australia only 11 months ago by winning the Cervelo Super Series. A handy 5th place in the elite TT at Australian Nationals and Hertz ProVelo Super League with Butterfields Ziptrak Racing led to a stint in Europe over the summer picking up a number of podia in the local kermesses.

In October, Lucie will line up for Meridian Bikebug at the Women’s World Tour event in China, the Tour of Chongming, less than 12 months after her first senior race.

Lucie’s road to the World Tour has been fast, but she is a fast learner and eager to make the most of the Developing Talent program at Meridian in 2027.

A day in the Pro Series in Bretagne for the Pointe du Raz Ladies Classic. In its 4th this 130km course has 17 gravel sectors ranging from ⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in difficulty. This challenge will include 6 World Teams and 6 Pro teams.

A unique and exit challenge for our first year Continental Team.

We’re excited to bring Alex Rawlinson into Oceania’s Women’s Continental Team. Alex joins Meridian Bikebug for the last 6 races of 2026 after a break-out elite year in which she has secure 5 UCI top 20 results around Belgium in the keukensRedantcyclingteam team.

Alex is the third New Zealander in the 2026 team and will bring some firepower to the One Day squad.

Through to 2027 Alex is excited about Meridian’s broad race calendar, is looking forward to riding more tours - starting in China next month - and the chance to work with our Developing Talent program.

The racing starts this weekend for Alex in Finistère.

Late summer racing fires up in Finistère this weekend with a double header. Starting with the new 94km race through West Brittany.

Expect wind, country lanes and a tight finishing circuit with a massive elite bunch. Mighty Meridian Bikebug takes on 6 World Teams and 6 Pro Teams amongst 140 starters.

We’re excited to line up with new signing Alex Rawlinson hot off a top 15 at the 1.2 Muurclassic yesterday. She will be joining Alyssa, Mia, Ava, Kirsty and Inez.

Living in Ghent in Flanders has the whole team close to high level kermesse racing. We have been racing every week since the end of July and it is so fun to get around these villages and join in their celebrations.

For the team bigger goals are elsewhere and the Kerms are a perfect opportunity to train intensity and practice some dance moves.

Alyssa stamped her authority on our last race yesterday in the break and getting the job done off the front.

Hoping for some good vibes and good luck in the coming two weekends in France and last few races for the year.

The European summer of Kerms finished yesterday with Alyssa Polites getting some local podium time in Berlare.

The team has used the prolific Belgium Kerm calendar to put in the hot and fast kilometres just prior to the last 5 UCI races in Europe.

SBS says its combined coverage of the 2026 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes reached 6.15 million Australians across broadcast and on-demand this year. The men's race pulled a Total TV Reach of 5.21 million across its 21 stages, and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift reached 1.51 million across its nine.

The reach figure counts anyone who watched at least a minute of coverage rather than the average audience per stage, which is a softer metric than the like-for-like French figures France Télévisions released last week. In a country of 28 million people, however, the total is substantial. SBS On Demand accounted for 28.6 per cent of Tour de France viewing and 19.7 per cent of the Tour de France Femmes viewing, a shift that continues to weight cycling's audience toward streaming.

The wider context is the growing pressure on ASO and its broadcast partners to deliver live coverage across every stage of the women's race, rather than the three broadcast in full this year. SBS's own numbers do not settle that argument on their own, but they add a data point in a market where cycling is a niche sport competing directly against dominant football codes.

Cadel Evans, Caleb Ewan and Grace Brown fronted the SBS coverage. Third-party platform views for the two races grew 450 per cent year on year, to a combined 660 million.
