What an incredible day yesterday!

We honestly can’t thank everyone enough for the amazing support we received at our dessert stall. The lovely comments about our set up and compliments about the desserts were so nice to hear, and we were blown away by how many people stopped by to support us.

A huge thank you to our committee members who made all the delicious goodies. There was a lot of work that went into getting everything ready, and we really appreciate everyone who gave up their time to help.

Thank you also to the organisers of the event for putting on such a great day and allowing us to be part of it.

To everyone who bought something, had a chat, shared our stall or simply came along to support us… Thank you! Every bit of support helps our little community hall keep going and gives us the opportunity to attend more events like this.

We really do have an amazing community. 💚

Here’s my 6am thoughts as we get ready to go and set up our Dessert Stall at Rollingstone:

We’ve seen candidates putting up signs around Mutarnee, but so far we haven’t really had the opportunity to meet them or hear directly from them about the issues that matter to our local community.

We’ll no doubt see a lot of the candidates around today at the Rollingstone Harvest Carnival, so we thought this was a good opportunity to ask our community:

What would you like the candidates to know?

What issues are important to you and our area? Roads, infrastructure, services, community facilities, rural concerns or anything else you think needs attention?

Drop your feedback, questions or concerns in the comments below. We can pass these on to the candidates.

The candidates have already taken the opportunity to meet with communities from Rollingstone through to Townsville. Would our community like the same opportunity here in Mutarnee? (I know a place 😉).

It’s dawned on me that we’ve been a little quiet on the socials lately… but I can tell you, there’s been A LOT happening behind the scenes.

So, here’s a quick update on what we’ve been up to and what’s coming:

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW
• We’re currently sourcing quotes to replace our old, very dated metal sign out the front of the hall. It’s definitely time for a facelift.

We’re also in the process of getting an official Containers for Change bin to help reduce waste and hopefully raise a little extra money for the hall at the same time. Official location coming soon!

We’re currently accepting quotes for plastering and air-conditioning works as we continue to improve the hall. We are also on the lookout for flooring specialists. If you know a great flooring company please send them our way!

WHAT’S COMING UP
• After the success of our sponsorship shirts (We had more interest than we had room on the shirts) we’re looking at getting an advertising blackboard out the front of the hall to showcase upcoming events and what’s happening around our community.

• There will be an opportunity for local businesses to contribute, and in return proudly have your business logo displayed on the board. More details coming soon!

🌾 HARVEST CARNIVAL!
We’ll also have a stall at the Rollingstone Harvest Carnival at Pace Park next Saturday! We will feature alongside some outstanding community groups and we can’t wait. Make sure you come and see us for a sweet treat!

I just wanted to thank everyone for attending our watch party tonight! What a great turn out for our first ever origin event!

Thank you to everyone who brought tickets in our meat tray. All proceeds go into keeping the hall alive for the next generation. 🏆
