Last night saw the first round of the Spring Melee and we were lucky to have some great weather, no breeze for the two games we played.

Between each game Alan advised that this year was the 20th year of the event and since it was the end of the year almost, that he will make something special for the 21st year of the Melee nights and announced the winners of the Winter Melee , third place was Richard Huntley and there were two equal winners in Graham Kenner & Marilyn T.

The meal was outstanding with a choice, of Vegetable Curry, Butter Chicken and Goat Curry, served with flat bread and condiments. After the second game members could have a desert of Chocolate self-saucing pudding with Ice Cream. Thank you to Wendy and her helpers as well as the kitchen hands and bar staff.

We were treated to another great Wednesday Night meal by Leigh and her assistant Craig of Corned beef in Mustard Sauce served with vegetables peas, carrots and a tasty cabbage dish & mashed potatoes followed by a delicious vanilla slice finger.

Thanks to Leigh who also shared her secret recipe of the Mustard sauce, which will be in our next newsletter.

Many of us got in a game or two. See you this Saturday we will be open from 2.00

Prospect was well represented at the second round of the SAPL Interclub held on Sunday the 27th September. 7 Teams of triples played and the final breakdown of the 28 teams who participated have not yet been released. All teams play five rounds and moved up and down using the Swiss scoring system. At the fourth-round 1st after lunch four prospect teams were 5,6,7,8. At the time of this post we don't have the final order of the teams, when the final finishing positions come through will edit the post. Thanks to Gawler club for their hospitality.

The first three placings were:
1st place went to ESP team Ha,Haejung & Van taking out the honours on the day.
2nd place went to APC team JP, Jean & Louis
3rd place went to APC Alain, Paul & Dom (who went home before presentations)

We were lucky again to have a great food option on Wednesday night with Steve and Micheal preparing food for us, we had a choice of either a marinated Lamb steak or Chicken Fillet served with a Beetroot Salald and cabbage & crispy noodle salad and you had your choice of a roll or crusty bread.

Thanks to the boys and those that helped clean up, plus our bar staff. We will be open on Saturday from 2.00pm so do come along and enjoy a game or two.

We wish our competition players the best of luck on Sunday at the next round of the interclub being held at Gawler.

Also, how many holes can you patch? Maybe the rules were a bit different back then!

Our September Saturday competition saw 28 people playing for $56.00. 4 Players scored the magic total of 26 points.
They were Geoff, Richard H, David Crabtree and John W.
After the countback the outright winners were David C and John W who both had one point scored against them. Congratulations to the winners . The next comp is on the 17th October. See you there.

A big thank you to Loni and Jan, who made a fanstastic meal for our Wednesday Night Petanquers. Louisana Chicken cooked in creamy chicken soup, served with vegetables and crusty bread. As a treat there were also Lamington bites courtesy of Gepps Cross Dog Club on offer for those that wanted a treat.

Our page has been quiet while I have been away, but I am back to keep you up todate with the goings on at PPC. Join us tonight for a game or two starting at 7.00pm.

State mixed doubles today at Prospect saw two predictable results: Prospect turned on the sunshine and Van and Ha won yet another state title.

26 teams competed on a glorious winter's day, with the following results:
- Principale: Van and Ha defeating Ken and Deb Rodda
- Consolante: Haejung and Alexi defeating Charlie and Dave
- Knockout challenge: a very happy Valentina and Richard V beating Craig and Jean
- Conviviale ran late due to a tight semi, with Brian and Rae prevailing over Ned and Selina
- The very Conviviale saw Ken and Pam defeat Tim and Val.

Brett umpired and served tirelessly all day, David J fetched and helped with lunch and the Prospect crew all chipped in to setup, serve and clean up.
