This year’s freestyle class is dedicated to Lea Bierman.

Lea was one of our founding members, and music was always part of how she rode. This freestyle portion of the day is in her honour.

We’ve added “Ride to Music” tests at Prep, Prelim and Novice level, no choreography required! Ride your regular test with your favourite music playing in the background.

Not ready for music yet? The usual Prep, Prelim and Novice tests are still running alongside them.

However you want to ride on the day, there’s a place for you.

Thanks so much to Melinda from EQ for organising the Northcoast Active-riders Group (Nags) Behind the Scenes CDI tour today, lots of amazing insights into all the expertise and work that goes into delivering a major equestrian event - we met FEI Steward Anthony, competitor Jessica Dertell and her very friendly stallion Kilimanjaro all the way from Victoria, stable manager Cheryl, office manager Lisa, a real DJ in the announcers box, FEI Vet Derek Major and attending West Vets team members. We even bumped into NAGs member Cheryl Lawrence returning from her Advanced class and members Sage Sharpe Dressage and Harper Carter Sara Carter listening attentively to the Brett Parbery Masterclass featuring yet another NAGs member GP rider Ellyn Joy Parker. So exciting we even had a glass of Moet for lunch 😁 Thanks EQ for the great experience. Petra von Natzmer Chris Campbell

Lea Bierman was a founding committee member of NAGs, helping to establish NAGs and create the culture we have today. She dedicated countless hours and many years to growing the love of our sport on the Sunshine Coast and in Queensland. The recipient of many accolades, including the 2019 Equestrian QLD Service to Sport Award, Lea’s contribution to dressage and equestrian sport was enormous. Sadly, we lost Lea July 2022.

There was nothing Lea loved more than dressage and dancing, so we are combining the two in honour of her!
