⛳ Saturday Golf Results | 5 September 2026

A modest field of 49 players (46 men and 3 women) took to the course for our Monthly Medal, sponsored by Dennis and Co.

It was a day of some very trying conditions, with a few big scores turned in and some golfers finding themselves playing shots from some rather unusual places! Ask Ben Herrod about his adventures on the 4th and 18th. 😂

The Seniors’ SA Order of Merit tournament has finished. What a success it was, showcasing our course. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. So many people giving us so much positive feedback.
I think they just love the country vibe.

The course got the most feedback. We just don’t realise how good we have it here at Naracoorte.

Obviously, it took a fair bit of effort to put the Tournament on.
I don’t like to mention names for fear of missing someone out.

But, to Tim and Jacob. You should be extremely proud of how the course was presented.
Captain Bredon (and supervisor Zander) for the huge amount of hours put in leading up to and during the Tournament.
Dicky, Rowey, Drew and others who helped out where they could.

To Sam, who pulled the whole thing together. Always a thankless and unnoticed job, but if the event goes well, it’s the unsung people who make it happen.

To those who cooked BBQ’s, Breakfasts, worked the bar, worked in the kitchen (thanks Jill for organising), who helped as starters, course marshals or just helped clean up – a big thanks.

As a Club, we can be proud that we can run such a large event.

Ladies golf 28th August 2026

Hutchison’s Nursery kindly sponsored the Stableford competition played on Wednesday the 19th of August. There were 16 ladies in the field and Robyn Hage was the winner with 34 points. The runner up was Jenny Legoe with 33 points. Nearest the pin winners were Jayne Castine on the 7th hole and Robyn Hage on the 16th hole. The ball run down winner was Sandy Edwards with 32 points.

Last week was Helen Sherlock Memorial Day – a stroke and Monthly medal round. Ladies played for the coveted trophy, along with lovely bunches of flowers and vouchers kindly donated by Brian and his daughters.. Alison Rowe was the A grade and monthly medal winner with 98-24-74 – well done to Alison who has only been a Wednesday regular for a short time. The runner up in A grade was Pam Hood with 102-20-82. In B grade, Trish Brooker was the winner with 106-30-76 on a count back from Chris McDonald with 114-38-76. Pam Hood was nearest the pin on the 7th hole and Elaine Zerk was the ball run down winner with 109-33-76.

This week Naracoorte is hosting the SA Men’s and Women’s Senior Amateur Championship over 3 days so there will be no Wednesday competition. Ladies are welcome to play on Thursday or Saturday. Normal Wednesday golf will resume the following week with a Stableford competition sponsored by the golf club.

Saturday Stableford Results - 15th August 2026

Mick O'Shaughnessy has found a purple patch of form lately; all of his practice during the week is paying off. Mick was the A Grade winner with 42pts (73 gross) with an eagle on the 8th. Word around the course is that it was a putt that even his late dad would have been proud of. He might retire the Texas wedge soon and start chipping from around the greens to give the rest of us a chance.

The B Grade Winner was Chris Rowe with 34pts. The C Grade Winner was Peter Stojanovski with 40pts and the Ladies Winner was Margot Vilde with 38pts.

Well done to Trevor Smith for winning the Tender Cuts Naracoorte meat tray, which I'm sure he offered to have the members around for a BBQ.

Stephen Cooke wasn't in the clubhouse for the Members Draw, so it jackpots to $100 this Saturday night.

27 Hole Naracoorte Cup sponsored by TASCO Petroleum and Naracoorte Toyota is this Sunday 23rd August. Entries are still open for anyone who hasn't entered yet.
