If you have had any of these thoughts, then we welcome you to come and train with GKR Karate. GKR Karate has been empowering both adults and children with confidence, self-discipline and physical fitness for over 30 years. Our distinctive method of teaching karate to all age groups has helped to safeguard many children against the proliferation of schoolyard bullying, and equipped adults with an inner-security that positively affects all aspects of their lives. As an organisation, our goal is to strengthen the minds and bodies of our students through the development of traditional karate skills and the improvement of personal character. We are arguably the largest Karate Club in the world, and have over 40,000 active students across Australia, UK, New Zealand and the USA. We cater for all ages, from 5 years and above and will welcome any student who is willing to learn. Our Club in constantly finding new ways to teach, Karate starting from the Basics and fundamentals that make our style so strong, right up to the way of relating Kata (self-defence forms) to real life situations, and applying what will actually save you if ever needed. We are breaking new ground with tournament coaching, training and competing with many of student’s regularly competing around Australia, Japan, UK and Europe.

🏆 REGION 3 REGIONAL TOURNAMENT 2026 🏆

What an incredible day! ❤️🥋

A massive congratulations to every single competitor who stepped onto the mats at our Regional Tournament. Whether you walked away with a medal or simply challenged yourself by getting out there and competing, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. Every tournament is an opportunity to learn, grow and become better than you were yesterday.

A tournament like this also simply could not happen without the amazing people behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to all of our officials and volunteers who gave their time throughout the day to help everything run smoothly.

A special thank you to Sensei Alicia and Sensei Renae for all the work behind the scenes, both leading up to the tournament and throughout the day. ❤️

And a massive thank you to Tania, Rob and Neveah for taking care of the BBQ and helping keep everyone fed! 🌭🔥

There are so many moving pieces that go into making a tournament day possible, and every person who helped, competed, supported, coached, officiated or cheered played a part in making the day what it was.

We are so grateful to have such an incredible Region 3 community behind us.

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Black Belt class in Narellan. We hope you were able to take away a few things and make them your own.

Senior Class Eligibility Update Effective 1 September

Good morning students and families,

As our Instructor team continues to grow, we will be making a small change to Senior Class eligibility at our Narellan, Campbelltown and Ingleburn dojos.

From 1 September, Senior Classes will be open to:

Accredited Instructors
Public students who hold the rank of 1st Kyu (Brown Belt 2 Black Tips)

At present, these classes are open to all Brown Belts. This change will allow us to better cater for the increasing number of Instructors by providing more focused training, mentoring and development specific to their level.

If you are currently attending Senior Classes and are ranked below 1st Kyu, you are welcome to continue training in these classes until 1 September.

Please be assured that your training will not be impeded. We offer many classes suitable for Brown Belts across your local dojos, ensuring you will continue to receive quality instruction and excellent opportunities to progress towards your next grading.

Thank you for your understanding and continued commitment to your karate journey. We look forward to supporting your ongoing development.

📢 50 Person Kumite Event – Postponed

Unfortunately, due to a lack of entries, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our 50 Person Kumite Event, which was scheduled to be held this Saturday.

While we’re disappointed not to be running it as planned, we want to make sure the event is as exciting and worthwhile as possible, with plenty of participants for everyone to enjoy.

A new date will be announced once we have enough interest to make it a fantastic experience for all involved.

Thank you to everyone who registered and showed their support. We appreciate your enthusiasm and look forward to bringing this event back bigger and better soon.

If you have already paid for the event, Sensei Alicia will be in touch with you shortly to discuss whether you would prefer a refund or to have your payment held as a credit towards the rescheduled event or another future event. 🥋👊
