What a day at the AO tennis with the family! We watched some great matches and got to see Clint Packer do his thing on the sidelines. Good to get some insights on how coaching works at that level. Xanthe ended up going home with Clint’s racquet which she was impressed with.

Congratulations to RAKet Sport’s Taryn Kirk on being named Narrabri High School’s Helen Griffiths Sportswomen of the Year.

Taryn has had an amazing year also winning the Melissa Andrew’s Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Cricket Player, the Stephanie Stuart Award for being an Inspiring and Courageous Sportsperson and the Narrabri RSL Sub Branch League prize for Outstanding contribution to school sport.

Taryn also took home the Australian Defence Force Long Tan prize for Leadership and Teamwork. There was also some amazing academic prizes for PASS,history and the Principals Medal.

These achievements have not happened over night this has been a gradual process over the past few years with Taryn working hard on her fundamental skills and working hard to improve. There has been ups and downs and her commitment and resilience has paid off. I am incredibly proud and she continues to be an asset to RAKet Sports and enjoys working with others to help them improve too.

Congratulations Taryn keep working hard and reach for the stars.

Good luck to Taryn and all the North West girls at the NSW CHSSSA championships.

Last week was a huge one for RAKet Sports members Taryn and Tori, with both girls representing North West at the NSW CHS Tennis Championships in Bathurst. The girls played some great tennis and it was a great learning experience for both of them.
And to top it off Taryn was selected in the North West Girls cricket side today.
Well done girls.
