Women only adventure race

Women only adventure race Women’s Adventure Race is a girls-only adventure race. We are going to run/jog/walk, ride our bikes and kayak over the 2 hour course. Not anymore!

Women’s Adventure Race is a female-only adventure race is first of all about having outdoor fun with your sisters, cousins, daughters, friends, and colleagues. Adventure racing is about getting out of the home/office/gym into the fresh air and exploring all the thrills of these outdoor activities in one event. Adventure racing is a combination of two or more endurance disciplines including running, mountain biking, paddling and orienteering /navigation. Events vary from expedition events (up to 10 days) to sprint events (up to one or two hours). Are you afraid that adventure racing might be too extreme, too hard and perhaps not for you? Women’s Adventure Race is designed to create a beginner-friendly environment to jump on board the exciting world of adventure racing.

Hi everyone,

We’re two sleeps away from the Women Only Adventure Race Canberra on Sunday 20 September, and we honestly can’t wait to see you all out there! 🎉

This will be the biggest navigation-based AR in Australia to-date with 200 teams racing.

Get ready for a day of adventure, teamwork, a few challenges, plenty of laughs and hopefully some moments that make you think, “I can’t believe we just did that!”

Your Final Race Information booklet was emailed to all registered teams a few days ago. Please take a few minutes to read through it before race day — it includes everything you need to know about timing, gear, parking, the course and more.

🚨 ONE THING TO READ TWICE: THE START IS NOT AT HQ!

This is the most important thing to get right on race morning:

HQ (registration + finish): Black Mountain Peninsula Park, next to the playground.
START: Lawson Crescent Viewing Deck — approximately 3 km away.

Parking near HQ is limited, so please carpool or ride if you can, and make sure you allow plenty of extra time.

A few important reminders
HQ opens at 7:00 am for the registration and race pack collection.

Please check in at the start line 10 minutes before your wave.
Your wave time is in your registration email and we'll confirm it again by text.
Bring your compulsory gear, including your first aid kit, phone in a waterproof case and water. There are no aid stations, so you'll need to be self-sufficient.
Presentation is at 1:30 pm — we'd love you to stick around and celebrate everyone's adventures if you can!
