UWA is hosting a 'masterclass' about AUKUS and the development of nuclear submarines in Australia.
This is appalling. The nuclear submarines will cost over a quarter of a trillion dollars. This money should be spent on housing, welfare and healthcare - not on building weapons of war.

Yesterday, the ADF were invited by UWA to talk to students at Reid library. One of the army officers there had served in Iraq.
The US-led western coalition that invaded Iraq in the early 2000s meant the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians. Western forces were sent in 2003 to Iraq, supposedly to stop Saddam Husein acquiring "weapons of mass destruction". This pretext has long since proved to be an absolute farce. The ADF members who visited yesterday also had nothing to say about the atrocious war crimes revealed in the Brereton report.
The ADF is not a benign institution that should be sanitized, supported or promoted at UWA. This is an institution of murder, war and imperialism.
